Weaver had less influence than ever. Joe and Jordan Dumars have much more active roles.

As of today, the Pelicans have the rim lopsided shot diet in the league. No other team is as rim-leaning as them with such a wide gap between that & their 3-point frequency -- a statistical anomaly this season.
The last team to have a rim frequency over 40%, the 2020-21 Pels.

#Pelicans trail Nuggets 37-18 at end of first quarter.
Strange but true.
They also got outscored 37-18 in the fourth quarter Saturday night against the Nuggets.

The Pelicans have the strangest cast in the NBA, & it's living proof that basketball is so much more about fit than raw talent.
Here's a @dlee4three inspired table emphasizing this team's lack of connective skills & + team-influence... & how that creates shoddy offense.

Just spoke to a Pelicans official who tells @TheSteinLine that the team has not indicated a willingness to trade Herb Jones.
Jones played sparingly in the Pels' first three games. They have maintained a high threshold on trade interest in Trey Murphy III and Jones for months.

Clay Travis claims The Cheesecake Factory was a childhood luxury. Except it didn't open in Nashville until he was 26.
@Timodc and @PabloTorre investigate the curious case of his restaurant nostalgia:
“We are now swift boating Clay Travis for Cheesecake Factory stolen valor.”

There's so many baffling stats and moments from the Pels vs Nugs game
- D Jordan gets start for defensive purposes, plays more than Herb Jones while Murray scores 42
- DEN shoots 79% in restricted area
- 1 rebound from Zion
- Pels 1/17 from 3 in 2H and OT
- out reb 14-8 in 4thq

And to be clear, Mosley is not supplied with a cohesive roster.
The main issue is still that there isn't any evidence that Joe Dumars and Troy Weaver can build teams that can succeed in this current era.

Complete and total collapse for the Pelicans.
The Jamahl Mosley Magic blew a 3-1 lead including a 24pt second half lead.
3 blown leads for the Pels to start the season. Were up 23 vs Nuggets.
Just bad play calling and offense.

Margins are always slim in the NBA. The Pelicans can't afford to ignore the lineup lessons of last year. The net ratings and point differentials matter.

#Pelicans use a 12-0 and a 9-0 run in the quarter to take a 66-56 halftime lead. Pels had 4 steals in the quarter and Zion's 2nd three-pointer of the quarter has the crowd rocking
