Forcing disabled young people the DWP has already declared unfit for work into employment whilst cutting Access to Work and spreading propaganda about how disabled benefit claimants are all faking scroungers, wheres this "hope" you speak of @UKLabour @andyburnham?

Government admits that disabled people will be coerced to end their life by structural pressures such as neglect, poverty and living conditions, if medically-assisted suicide is legalised. Is this the brave new world you want, MPs?

Disabled people’s organisations have raised grave concerns about last week’s “less than honest” report from the Timms Review and warn that it has “diluted” disabled people’s concerns about possible cuts to their personal independence payment.

It’s not true and never was. She was seriously misadvised.
.@UKStatsAuth has written to @KemiBadenoch today, following our fact check of her inaccurate claim that the total welfare bill is now higher than income tax receipts “for the first time ever”.
We hope she will correct the record soon.

Labour ministers have refused to release a “briefing pack” which would reveal the thoughts of civil servants on repeated calls for an inquiry into hundreds, and probably thousands, of benefit-related deaths.

We are increasingly concerned at Disability Action Haringey about government and Motability Foundation scheme changes and what they mean for disabled people.
Our CEO Phil Stevens has written about some of the impact, but more worrying impacts are still emerging.
We know this will affect people’s independence and daily lives.
This is not reform. It’s the erosion of rights.

ALT A powerful illustration showing a wheelchair user on a cracked, uneven road, reaching out as a Motability van drives away with a “closed” sign on the back. Road signs point to “loss of benefits” and “limited access.” The ground is broken with a faded disabled parking symbol, and the headline reads: “Motability changes are a step backwards for disabled people’s rights.”

And 60% worry that if disabled people are living in poverty, with benefits being cut, they may turn to assisted suicide rather than struggle financially. For disabled people polled, that figure is 70%.

** Reduced water bills for disabled households announced **
Low-income disabled households with a water meter will get reduced water bills as part of reform to the WaterSure scheme in England and Wales.
Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Attendance Allowance will join the list of qualifying benefits for the scheme, the government has announced.
A change to price cap rules will also see most existing WaterSure claimants save up to £100 each.
The reforms will come into force in early 2027. Water companies in England must adopt the changes, but in Wales the changes will be voluntary.
