Nearly one year in, New York's congestion relief program is saving people time and creating good jobs on construction projects to deliver the reliable, accessible subway service that millions of riders deserve, not just in Manhattan, but deep into Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx
Congestion pricing is the gift that keeps on giving this holiday season. 🥰

Just witnessed a fire truck BARREL up 10th Ave bike lane, then it had to cut into vehicle traffic because of this illegally parked truck unloading. Proof again that bike lanes help emergency response time while illegal vehicle activity & sheer volume of cars hamper them.

Every day, more than 1 million New Yorkers ride the bus. So why are we put last on our streets? We're launching a campaign to build the power we need to win FAST, FREE, and FULLY-FUNDED bus service for every rider in every borough. Sign the petition and join the movement at fixthebus.nyc

Absolutely I feel safer walking through Central park with a horse clomping nearby. The horse carriages are a literal cavalry of public safety patrolling the south part of the park for free.
Felony crime in Central Park, ytd, is nearly 62 percent higher than in the year before the pandemic. Like many parts of NYC, Central Park is consistently less safe than it once was. Yet the city council and mayor are moving to take away dozens of pairs of Jane-Jacobs-style eyes on the street from the park -- the men and women slowly and continuously viewing the drive and paths from up high in a carriage, including into the evening and late-night hours. Ripping apart complex urbanism for fanatical special interests is rarely a good idea.

The protected bus lane will provide a wide-open path for emergency vehicles to cut through traffic…
It’s going to take years and BILLIONS of dollars to undo the damage that is being done in NYC by an activist DOT. In NYC the average ambulance response time is over 13 minutes. People will die, but at least there will be bike lanes for those that don’t.

What would be better than an HOV lane would be a true BRT starting out in Nassau and up to the Bronx with connections to the Airtrain and trains in Briarwood/Jamaica and Flushing

We finally agree about a form of transit that should be free ... The AirTrain should indeed be free, as a transfer from the subway, bus, or LIRR. It truly is a money grab.
This is what it looks like when we light money on fire. Encouraging people to drive to the airport is nothing to be proud of. Bringing more traffic to Queens is an own goal. The AirTrain should be free and should offer a one seat ride.

In New York, Darryl Rodriguez was just shot in the chest for asking a teenager to stop smoking pot. Last spring, an innocent CTA passenger was apparently punched in the face for telling someone to stop puffing. Riders shouldn't have to choose between secondhand smoke or violence on our trains and buses.

Spot on from @NYDailyNews editorial board. NYC shouldn’t have to keep asking Albany for permission to make its streets safer. Red-light cameras help deter dangerous driving and save lives. Give the city the authority to expand their use and protect more New Yorkers.
"Few policies can be so directly tied to saving lives and it’s an outrage that the city needs the approval of the state Legislature for this program and that the cameras at all 600 intersections expire on Dec. 1, 2027."

🚗 Major milestone on the Van Wyck Expressway in Queens, NY! The new HOV lane is OPEN to vehicles with 2+ occupants! Today, NYS announced the completion of major work on the $1.4 billion project that helps reduce congestion and improve airport access. 🔗bit.ly/47D1M2l

Bus riders should not have to fear violence over a $3 fare! New Yorkers need a fully funded bus system that delivers fast, free and reliable service now. Costly fare enforcement that slows service and leads to violence against riders is not the answer! nytimes.com/2026/10/22/nyreg…

Will Duffy put adults-only flights at the back of the departure line or are his natalist schemes just for public transit?
"I don't mind when a kid is crying with me. I just want my flight on time!" Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy (@SecDuffy) weighs in on JetBlue's new child-free flights as part of an adults-only vacation package. Duffy is a father of 9, and he says it's good for children to travel with their parents. TELL US: How do you feel about kid-free flights?👇✈️

She's right, and yet people upstate also despise NYC On a good day, New Yorkers unite over a grudging recognition along with mutual animosity Needless to say, there's profit to be made in division, both political and economic
“That was hurtful, and it gives us a chip on our shoulder — one that I still have today,” @KathyHochul in @nytimes. “People look down on us...People mocked us all the time. So that’s been our psyche. And I just thought, ‘But we’re not losers.’” nytimes.com/2026/10/23/nyreg…

I'm glad New Yorkers' concerns about bus fare enforcement have led the MTA to pause its EAGLE teams. When low-income New Yorkers—especially Black & Latino New Yorkers—already face over-policing, this violent treatment from the MTA is unacceptable and EAGLE teams must end for good
