Attacking Mother Teresa for running a simple hospice misses the entire point of Christian history: she was never trying to build a modern corporate medical center. She was reviving fourth-century Catholic monastic charity with her bare hands. Pagan Rome maintained medical tents for wounded legionnaires and valuable slaves, but zero institutional charity existed for the sick poor. If you were destitute and diseased in antiquity, you died in the gutter. Christianity revolutionized the ancient world by treating the broken human body as Christ Himself. In 325 AD, the Council of Nicaea commanded every bishop to establish a hospital in every cathedral city. St. Basil built the massive Basiliad outside Caesarea to nurse lepers, and medieval monasteries constructed the entire Hôtel-Dieu network across Europe, housing, feeding, and comforting the the poorest of the poor for free for over 1,000 years. Mother Teresa stepped straight into that patristic and medieval lineage. She did not run an American surgical wing or a state medical billing center. She ran a raw frontline hospice, taking in human beings that municipal hospitals dumped onto the curb. Her sisters washed their wounds, fed them, and held their hands so they would not die abandoned on the pavement like animals. Demanding 21st-century bureaucratic hospital metrics from a canonized saint who pulled dying lepers out of open gutters is not moral critique. It is pure historical illiteracy. Saint Teresa of Calcutta, ora pro nobis.

I love X because I never knew I could find a super large and strong Catholic community. I also despise X because I’ve never seen so much hatred toward the Church in my entire life from all the other denominations.

Jesus never commanded anyone to follow the Bible alone. He founded a Church, appointed apostles, and gave them authority. Sola Scriptura is a rule Scripture never teaches.

Lindsay is a paranoid weirdo who absolutely despises right wingers. The good news though is that he has absolutely zero cultural influence outside of the extremely narrow little cult of personality that he’s built up among a relatively small group of mid-level neocon influencers. Beyond that, nobody knows who he is, and nothing he’s ever written, said, or created has made its way into mass culture, or ever will. Stop a thousand random people on the street and not a single one of them will know the name James Lindsay. And that’s precisely the thing that makes this raging narcissist so angry.
James Lindsay, "anti-Communist," accused Amanda Milius of dog-whistling to groypers because she stood next to a portrait of the most famous anti-Communist strategist in American history. Michael Anton with a must-read in American Mind. americanmind.org/salvo/james…

Hot take: watching a man get executed on livestream is low class behavior. I understand the Romans made killing a public spectacle, and so did the French Revolution but that’s entertainment for the plebs. I hold myself to a higher standard. You have to ask yourself what you’re feeding when you deliberately sit down to watch somebody die... What part of you wants that experience? Remember, the content you consume shapes who you become. If you feed yourself enough cruelty, eventually death becomes entertainment. Yes, this man is evil, and he should be condemned but bloodlust is not a virtue. If you care about your spiritual life guard what you watch. You should be more worried about what’s happening to your soul.

If your church isn’t old enough to have fought in the Crusades, I don’t care about your opinion on Catholic vs Islam relations. If your church isn’t old enough to have converted European pagans, I don’t care about your take on paganism. Thank you, that is all.

In 2001 (exactly 25 years ago this coming Sunday) I did two things absolutely forbidden in the New Testament. I later realized both errors and had no choice but to walk away from both. 1. I started a Church and called myself the pastor of that Church. I stayed there for 12 years. There is no sanction or permission in the Bible for any person to start a Church and take to himself the role of pastor without apostolic appointment by an actual Bishop. 2. I brought that Church into a denomination founded by a woman in 1923 (Foursquare). There is absolutely no Biblical grounds for any Christian to found their own denomination and take to themself the ecclesial authority to ordain ministers. In America and many other places… - Anyone can start a Church - Anyone can start a denomination - Anyone can claim to be a pastor - Anyone can start a seminary or ministry school - Anyone can claim to be sent by God - Anyone can ordain anyone else or even himself/herself In the Bible, though, this is not possible. In fact, it is a great sin, though I was ignorant of it at the time. Once I became conscious of it, I had to walk away from the sin of schism. Jesus founded one Church. Six years after leaving that entire life, in His mercy, Jesus brought me into full communion with the Church HE founded: the Catholic Church.

The haters of Leo will just say something like the crusades. They are blinded by their dislike of the pope. The current regime is using religion to commit genocide, war crimes and illegal wars. There’s a huge or yuge difference in that. For those to try to equate the crusades to the federal empire’s illegal wars and bombings is lunacy. These ‘Christian nationalists’ are not Christian but use Christianity for their marketing campaigns

In one breath: "Catholics aren’t Christians. They’re pagans!" In the next, he calls the founders of hospitals, hospices, orphanages, etc "Christians." Those founders were Catholic. The Protestant mind needs Catholics to be pagans when attacking them, and Christians when taking credit for what they built.
Yes it has. You can thank Christians for: -Hospices -Hospitals -Orphanages -Homeless shelters -Literacy campaigns -The abolition movement -Disaster relief organizations Without Christianity these things wouldn’t exist.
