Matthew Schaefer is the difference between #Isles being a bad 5on5 team and a great one. Honestly feel like some of Schaefers results have been unlucky, part of it is finishing talent around him but the other half is like a post a game minimum. His stats/analytics are unreal.

Here are some Schaefer 5on5 ranks for all defensemen: (9gp MIN) [NST] #Isles Shots/60: 1st iCF/60: 1st iSCF/60: 1st iHDCF/60: 3rd Takeaways/60: 1st IxG/60: 4th TOI/gp: 3rd These are results that deserve norris/hart consideration if he keeps this up.

I wasn't going to believe Schaefer was going to be miles better on both sides of the puck this season but he's straight up just earning $20 million keeping this team competitive. He's become the new Sorokin if Sorokin could skate down the ice and do everything else. #Isles

Switching Shabanov & Boldy was a brilliant move for the Wild. Makes you wonder why we haven't seen more of Barzal & Horvat? I always felt breaking them up was counterproductive. I guess we'll see what happens when they come back. #Isles

Look at the emotion of this team as they celebrate with Semyon Varlamov. Truly a family, special stuff. #Isles

The #Isles goaltending so far this season has been nothing short of fantastic. I'd argue Varly's been better than Sorokin at times. Really magical stuff.

Thank you Varlamov for the point, Islanders played probably 3 minutes of good hockey after the first period ended. Gross. #Isles Two in a row where I don't think they've been any good. Wish they'd go out and sign somebody.

This team needs to stop playing Brayden Schenn at the end of hockey games, he is a turnover machine. ENOUGH. Tired of it. #Isles

Nashville announcers have brought up the #Isles missing Barzal multiple times this game, for what its worth.

Isles have had some really strong shifts after the PK was killed, but they're fairly low danger. Palats been everywhere.
