I’ll never forget @DollyParton coming into the studio to record “My Father’s Daughter” with me. She told me the song reminded her of her own life story, and of “Coat of Many Colors,” which meant so much to me. And then, at 8 o’clock in the morning, she walked into the studio in full leather pants, lucite high heels, perfect hair, with sparkly butterflies woven through it — completely and unmistakably Dolly. She was prepared, gracious, funny, and consummately professional. And when she opened her mouth to sing, she was flawless. There are some people you admire from afar and somehow admire even more once you get to work beside them. Dolly is one of those people. An extraordinary artist, songwriter, storyteller, and woman. I feel so lucky that our voices got to meet on this song and that I have it as a memento to keep of her extraordinary life ❤️

This song is one of my favorite poems … And You know what? I decided F it. Why not release this song just like it is? Solo acoustic from this session. No fancy production. Just raw. Tonight at midnight. Hope you enjoy. jewel.ffm.to/goddessoflove

Have a special treat for you! Here's an alternate view of me at Woodstock '99, which was 26 years ago today. The whole set at this festival is ubiquitously available online and has been bootlegged to death, but THIS is alternate B-roll footage that we shot that day from stage left, that NOBODY has seen before and features Alan Bershaw’s multitrack mix of the audio. I went on between @ElvisCostello and @ChiliPeppers on the final day, shortly before it literally went down in flames. Watch the full video now on my @YouTube channel: youtu.be/TFGO_-oPMDc
