English game in need of “better people and more money” says pundit as Super League and NRL deal nears completion

If England are playing a series against New Zealand next year, they need prep, they 100% have to play a warm up match. Super League should be having an international break every year.
I’m a big believer in the Super league Exiles concept. My potential 2027 line up.

🏴 England have done about as much as they reasonably could in pursuit of a semi-final place.

Becomes increasingly unfathomable how Jake Connor was not selected for this England squad as every good ball set passes by.

England now know exactly what's required to reach the semi-finals. They need a Tonga win over Samoa and two wins themselves as a bare minimum - but they need a 150-point swing in those three matches, too. It's not looking good

Rise and shine! Are you awake? Then you must be a glutton for punishment too!
England and France are both aiming for their first win at the World Cup at the second attempt. The loser is out. The winner is probably also out but it isn't guaranteed!

In light of the recent RFL statement
We have emailed the RFL, outlining our desire to work directly with Ian Nolan (CEO) face to face to present our business plan and ensure it’s measured accurately.
This meeting can take place anytime this or next week.
We repeat, we have the funds and are ready to compete.

Same. Old. Story.
New style, same problems. Jake Connor's absence becomes more and more baffling.
England thoughts.

This is going to get ugly quickly if this deal collapses, by the way. The term 'civil war' has been put to me by more than one person close to this deal. Super League is completely in limbo: no sponsor, no schedule, no format, no start date, no clarity on teams. It's mid-October

The heartland clubs and fans need to remember one thing.
Rugby league was created to fight the rugby establishment who closed doors and denied people being paid.
Now they're doing exactly the same thing they fought against.

The World Cup should be the high point of the rugby league calendar.
But just 59 days before it starts, the World Cup’s profile is tiny.

Well there’s enough horrid stuff going on in the world so here’s Vic & Bob inviting Mark Lamarr to do the Mammalathon Challenge.

That is a very miserable end. Theme of the series really; England squared up in patches but the quality has been desperately lacking. You suspect there will have to be some sort of inquest into this. What a missed opportunity for the game in this country.

The Ashes has been a missed opportunity. But with no warm-ups or training camps all year, England needs to put the national team first going into the World Cup.
Problems with performance are clear. But the game doesn't want to give England a chance.
