And this is why I’m not labeling anything in my story directly. See what you want to see. Or don’t.
One of the most interesting discourses in television history had to have been Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory. People would be like “This is horrible representation of autistic people.” And the writers would be like “He doesn’t have autism.” And people would respond “You’re lying, he is crystal clear representation of autistic people.”

Why do they have to leave Why don’t they come back

maybe the point isn't to become so wise and stoic that nothing ever hurts your feelings. maybe it's to become secure enough that you can feel the sting, laugh at yourself a little, learn what you need to learn, and keep your heart open anyway.

I fail to understand why people always want to round up confrontation as an “act of attack” or something like that. If I confront a person it’s because I care and I do have hope that we can move past whatever obstacle we may be facing at that time
I feel like people don't understand that confrontation is, in fact, an act of grace. I'm putting an issue to you because I care. This is me giving you the benefit of a doubt. It's an opportunity to share your perspective and for us to reach a conclusion.

And with confrontational people, the only acceptable outcome is them being right and the conversation going exactly as they’ve planned. You can’t ask for examples or details because then you’re gaslighting. You can’t disagree and share your perspective, because again: gaslighting

While it’s true some people dismiss astrology on misogynist grounds, I’m afraid that Le Guin said it best.

If my friends didn’t abandon me, I’d probably be less miserable to be around, eh? Let’s stop acting like this is an unsolvable cycle. We could do better, and if social bonds erode enough, we eventually will. Because this current model is not sustainable.
Also facts are that critically depressed people ARE unpleasant to be around. You know it. They know it. Combine that with more people apparently being increasingly allergic to being made uncomfortable in any circumstances and you get a social soup of perpetual misery

The streamer I used to mod for said that me not showing up last May was the reason he don’t enjoy his birthday subathon. Keep in mind, he had intimate knowledge of every source of stress in my life, & KNEW that I was hurting that month. Still hard to believe he did this to us.
if you are aware that your friend is going through a very difficult time of their life yet all you can pinpoint is their inability to stay consistent and show up for you, then you’re a selfish, transactional loser and fuck you to hell.

dumping ppl may feel like nothing to the ones who do it, but the ones who have to deal with being treated like a monster for misunderstandings or straight up lies will NEVER recover from this. it fucks you up, you feel panicked, paranoid and even creating new bonds is hard
I adored my friend group and now they all think I'm a monster. Now knowing that it's quite literally because they horribly misunderstood something I said and went to blocking and isolating instead of asking me to clarify, I barely want to be alive still.

I agree with this, but people are so quick to offer help they know they can’t give. And it’s all for their ego, so they can feel like a good person. They say, “let me know what I can do” but the second you say “talk to the jackass who did this to me” all of a sudden, SILENCE.
ok but its genuinely not their job to do anything else. I say this as someone who is so very mentally ill, its ok to reach out to your friends. its not ok to be mad when they dont know how to help you with clinical mental health issues

People claim to support mental health awareness until someone actually shows real symptoms like erratic behavior or shutting down, and suddenly everyone calls them toxic and leaves.

Let’s find a way to make it backfire. There’s nothing stopping us from exposing the people who do this and make them face their own cowardice. Breaking the trust people have in others is cruel, abusive, and unconscionable. It should carry a harsh social punishment.
It's extremely easy to understand, it's almost no effort to do it and you are the winner of the interaction if you do it. I don't think "ghosting" has ever backfired on someone.

One of the strangest aspects of society is that being ostracized like this is universally considered heart-wrenching—yet we have no moral imperative to be direct. Everyone just ghosts one another. Being direct is a virtue. If you are not direct, you are an immoral person.
just watched myself get unadded/blocked by a whole friend group on discord in real time with zero explanation. caught one of them before they blocked me and asked if i did anything wrong. blocked 5 minutes later, still no explanation

that urge to stop being friends with people who are friends with other people who have lied to/and about you, mistreated you and used you… like, if they don’t care someone hurt you… then are they really your friends? is it unreasonable to just want to cut ties?

I literally think this is the worst outcome of the "i dont owe you anything"/"protecting my peace" mindset. Maybe op did something fucked up but I do not understand not TALKING COMMUNICATING DISCUSSING it with someone that was a friend

they'll do this when one person in the group has one sided beef with you and then they'll exacerbate every single one of your flaws and build everything up and up until an irredeemable version of you exists in their head. You likely made a small, easily fixable mistake ->
