the age group where marriage has collapsed the most is also the one that overlaps with women's peak fertility
in 1960, 59% of americans between the ages of 18 and 29 were married. now it's just 16%
among married women, the monthly chance of conceiving a pregnancy that would result in a live birth was roughly 70% lower at 35 than at its peak around age 20
70% lower.
by 35
the fertility collapse is increasingly looking like a marriage collapse
fertility within marriage has held up far better than overall fertility
the problem is that far fewer people are married when they're young, and those who do marry are doing it much later
you cannot have a baby boom without people forming families

DEMOCRATS FOR PROP I (eye). The boogeyman political tactic to make Prop I a partisan issue is absolutely deceitful. As I've been saying (and seeing) ever since the petition drive for Prop I, there is a broad coalition of Austin taxpayers who are very disappointed in the Austin City Council, its high taxes, and waste of those taxes. They support a charter amendment to mandate a thorough review of City operations and spending and its Affordability. Over 40% of the petition signers are Democratic Party primary voters. Judge Prop I on its merits, but don't fall for deceitful tactics by anyone. This went out today. Check out yesforpropI.com
US states routinely dismissed as poor and backward clear Germany, the UK, France, Italy, and Spain in output per person.
Different incentives.
The American South still lets people keep more of what they produce, faces lighter regulation, and maintains higher labor force participation.
While Europe taxes work harder, regulates more, and funds larger non-working populations.
And the truth is the welfare state model is delivering lower prosperity, not higher. The only way is down.

the ideal choline amount for proper brain development in children is 450mg/day
most prenatal supplements on the market contain only a fraction of that amount. 60% contain none at all
what has the ideal amount: 3 eggs/day

For those keeping track, at least 4 widely cited polling firms have been exposed for fabricating or manipulating polling data:
- Wedgewood polls
- Median Strategies
- PSI
- SoCal Strategies
These polls, and the surrounding comemntary/reporting, had real impacts on races.
Cell service oligopolies attempting to use the government to restrict consumer choice.
AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile are jointly lobbying the FCC to preserve existing rules as @SpaceX moves closer to launching its own independent cellular network that would compete directly with the three major U.S. carriers.
On Oct 20th, reps from all three major U.S. wireless carriers met with FCC officials to push back against proposed changes that would give satellite companies more freedom to offer cellular service.
The carriers urged the FCC to:
• Block satellite companies from using certain 5G frequencies currently used by wireless carriers.
• Keep rules requiring satellite companies to get permission from wireless carriers before using their licensed spectrum.
• Allow wireless carriers to maintain control over these agreements, including the ability to end them.
• Reconsider proposed interference limits to protect existing cellular networks.
Based on all the public communications from these carriers, and the lobbying, they are clearly worried that SpaceX's @Starlink Mobile network is going to be a major competitor to them. Starlink Mobile will become the first network operator to deploy both satellite and terrestrial spectrum.
The FCC recently announced that they are considering new rules that could make it easier for satellite companies like SpaceX to offer cellular service without relying as heavily on existing wireless carriers, so this is partly what the three big carriers are fighting against.

"Prop I does not cut services and it does not raise taxes. It simply says that before City Hall can ask the shareholders for more capital, it has to show the books — under rules Council cannot quietly rewrite"

Then stop insulting them?
Most Indians, and indeed most ethnic minorities, are natural conservatives. Most will support immigration control, most will support tax cuts, most have strong family values, most are devoutly religious and most will respect the country they live in.

The final 2026 US budget is out…
One of the great political moves by the left in recent years has been convincing a large portion of America that we don’t already spend the vast majority of our money on healthcare and entitlement programs.

Follow the money, Austin, and you’ll find an alarming trend in how the city manages non-profit and social service contracts
-Over 44% of targeted service goals were missed.
-Fewer than 25% of the organizations met all expectations.
Yet ATX still paid them 100% in full, with no consequences for underperformance.
Compassionate governance shouldn't just mean writing checks and draining taxpayers of their lifeforce —it means demanding results. Time for stricter fiscal oversight in Austin City Hall.

"Food insecurity" is a misleading term.
If you didn't know any better, you'd imagine it was associated with chronically missed meals.
The food insecure are actually considerably fatter!

Austin man arrested for stealing metal from the @COTA after managing to accumulate 18 Felony convictions dating back to 2009. Still being cut breaks by @josepgarza in 2026. The metal theft case is still pending but in the meantime he plead down a robbery at a Home Depot to theft of person with time served. Later arrested at an apartment complex on Congress/Ben White after allegedly being caught on camera stealing mail. Not in jail with 6 pending felony indictments.
Prison didn't rehabilitate Joshua, but why did Austinites have to pay for Jose's experiment? I guess most of them voted for it.
