You simply cannot retain Steichan under any circumstance. It’s suicide. Reset culture, mentality and expectations. You can see Steichan “lose it” similar to how you see presidents age after 4 years. Moment is too big for him
I do feel like choosing to trade Q and obviously be entertaining other big trades points to this no longer being a “win or you're fired” situation for Steichen If it was you’d think that firing would already have happened Feels like they will let the new GM decide his fate

“So, um, yeah, you guys trading 2 first round picks with Daniel Jones just wasn’t smart Carlie”
TRENDING: Colts owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon speaking to Sauce Gardner on the sidelines has gone viral. Indianapolis just fired its general manager and traded away DeForest Buckner and Quenton Nelson. 😬😬😬

What have I been yelling all day?
Some team executives are wondering why the #Colts were in such a rush to trade Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner today with the trade deadline still two weeks away. Nelson and Buckner were, in the eyes of some, the top G and DT available on this year’s trade market. The interest — and potentially the value — for both players likely would have increased as the deadline approached and teams entered “now-or-never” mode. There’s a strong argument that the Colts could’ve gotten more.

I’m not saying they are close to contenders. I’m saying they rushed a decision for limited upside and further fan depression. The comp picks were dang near identical to what they got today. Wait a week or two and the value probably would have gone up. Definitely now down
Flicking into a win or two and using that as justification to keep trying with the same roster is the reason we’re in this situation to begin with This season 100% could’ve gone completely different and we could be contenders right now But we’re not Let’s not pretend we are

I actually expect Steichan to come out tomorrow morning and announce the Richardson start.

The new GM will be able to buy just about anyone on the open market so there is that
The Colts now lead the #NFL with $37M of 2026 cap space, and hold an estimated $97M of room in 2027 (5th most).

Franchise tag in 29 is about it. Selling tickets also has to be done
Doesn't make a ton of sense to me to have JT part of the reboot. The offense will struggle next year, so his on-field value is diminished. A RB can only do so much. By the time the team is competitive, his contract will be up (thru 2028). What am I missing?

Just a thought. Why not wait until after Jacksonville to rip all these bandaids? What if you fluked into a win and went into the Cowboys game only 1 game back? What was the hurry with 15 days left?

I need to log off Twitter but I’m just refreshing waiting for the next trade to be made.

My brother are you watching him step on the football field right now?
So the Colts are trading everyone away and now Dimes will get blamed for everything that goes wrong with zero support around him. Story of his career. A TRAVESTY AND AN INJUSTICE OF IMMENSE PROPORTIONS.

In the words of the great Bill Bellichek: It’s better to be one year early than one year late.
MOTHAFUCKIN right baby. I don’t care what y’all want to say. Call me dumb, call me selfish, I don’t GAF. Some men are meant to be one team players. Some men are meant to retire where they started. Greatest Colt RB of all time. Pray to God this is true.

I get it, they should trade him but you have to play literally corpses the next 10 weeks after you trade him.
WR-needy teams have called the #Colts on WR Josh Downs, according to several league sources. He’s a name that could be dealt as well.

Guards, while important just don’t win you division titles or playoff games. It was the logic from the beginning that hurt the Colts. It has the power to ruin you but doesn’t have the power to actually move you ahead
Today is my all-time low as a Colts fan. The Quenton Nelson trade means this franchise officially wasted 9 years a historically great career. Indy didn't deserve Q any more than quarter zip coaches deserve final four runs. Thank you for your attention to this off brand matter.

It’s not when you realize there is 10 games left in this year. And 17 games next year before that process actually starts.
You know, at least its exciting looking at a fresh start for the Colts.

If it was him I truly believe he wouldn’t be making the moves he did today
Replying to @FeuxManning
I’m more concerned about who takes over at GM. Would you be okay with Ed Dodds? Heard he was out when the Colts drafted AR so that has to be worth something, right?

I need a strong value Super Bowl pick to follow now. Who are we rolling with? $500 is being decided on it before Sunday.

Done
Trade scenario #Bengals receive Sauce Gardner 2027 4th round pick #Colts Receive 2027 1st round pick The #Bengals then would let Dax and Myles Murphy walk for the comp picks (or sign at team friendly deals) to recoup some of the draft capital. His cap hits are reasonable
