Rush-hour merges are the real test of self-driving. In Mad Max mode, the Tesla aborts one move, finds an opening, and adjusts speed to merge smoothly. Would you trust it in traffic?
Tesla is hiring Robotaxi crews in 8 US cities.
Night-shift fleet support, operations, charging and product readiness roles.
The tell: Phoenix, San Diego, the Charlotte area and the DC area aren't on today's 7-city Robotaxi map.
Sharp find, TeslaZoa. Where does it launch next?

Tesla's built-in dashcam just became Exhibit A.
A suspected DUI driver ended up wrapped around a pole, and Zack's Tesla caught it all. He showed police and paramedics the footage, and one paramedic already has a Model Y on order.
Great work, Zack!
A Tesla-obsessed 7-year-old in Waco had one birthday wish: a Cybertruck ride.
A Cybertruck owner took the birthday kid for a spin, then let them play the truck's racing game.
Tesla community at its best. Great story, KBTX! 🎂

Hands in the lap. Wheel turning by itself.
Punch in a destination, tap one button on the screen, and FSD (Supervised) takes it from there.
Nic's right, this never gets old. Could you ever go back to a car without it?
The fact that you can just get in a @Tesla, input your destination, start FSD with a button on your screen, then have the car literally take you anywhere you need to go all by itself never gets old.
I truly don’t ever see myself ever owning another car other than a Tesla for this reason alone. It changes your entire life.
50 hours of Uber rides in one week, and FSD did the driving.
$3,007 in fares, $2,126 to the driver, and about $50 to charge his Model Y.
Now picture that same car with nobody in the seat. Great receipts, Hunter!
This week I sat in the drivers seat of my model Y while it drove people around point to point on FSD for 50 hours and 40 minutes.
riders paid $3,007 for the provided rides and I took home $2,130
My cost of fuel was about $50 for the week.
A robotaxi would likely be able to drive more than 51 hours in a week.
Extrapolate this to Robotaxi fleet earnings however you wish…
Fort Worth Robotaxi, day one: 105 square miles you can actually ride in.
Tesla's advertised zone is 144 sq mi. This map shows where pickups and drop-offs really work, block by block, with the airports carved out.
Hours of mapping went into this. Huge work, Koby.
Three Teslas, one police fleet.
Cybertruck for rugged rural ground. Model Y for daily patrol. Unmarked Model 3 for covert work.
Instant torque, no gas runs, and one point of contact for procurement, charging and training. Clean lineup, Upfit.
Tesla’s standard self-driving handled merges and turns smoothly—until it camped in the left lane and made a last-second exit move. Smooth isn’t the same as decisive. Supervision still matters.

7 years ago this month, Tesla threw a steel ball at the Cybertruck's "armor glass" on stage.
It cracked. Twice.
Nov 21, 2019, Hawthorne. The internet roasted it, and now it's one of the most recognizable trucks in America.
Teslarati dug up the clip. Wildest unveil ever.
Tesla is 15 cars away from Waymo in Texas.
1,244 Robotaxis registered, up from 546 on Sept 30. That's a 128% jump in about a month, and roughly 573 of them are Cybercabs.
Waymo sits at 1,259. Ming laid out the whole scoreboard, worth the read.
STRONG SIGNAL 🚖 Tesla's Robotaxi service could pull in ~$20M in Q4 2026 🔥
That figure is an estimate built from public data, and the fleet behind it just more than doubled in a single month.
Tesla now has 1,244 vehicles registered for Robotaxi in Texas, according to the state's DMV registry. On September 30, it had 546.
That's a 128% jump in about a month, and it leaves Tesla just 15 vehicles behind Waymo's 1,259 in the same Texas registry.
The Cybercab is taking over, too. It only started giving rides on September 3, and it already accounts for about 573 of those registered vehicles.
Of course, a registered car isn't automatically a car carrying paying riders, and the registry doesn't show how many vehicles are on the road each day.
That's where the miles come in.
Tesla reported nearly 2 million cumulative unsupervised Robotaxi miles at the end of Q3. By October 18, that number had already hit about 3.1 million. That's roughly 1.1 million driverless miles in just 18 days, or more than 60,000 miles every single day.
Driverless rides are now live in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa, and Dallas is next in line for Cybercab service.
So where does $20M come from?
Tesla doesn't break out Robotaxi revenue, but Freda Duan, a partner at Brad Gerstner's tech investment firm Altimeter Capital, has run the numbers. She puts Austin's driverless service alone at roughly $800K to $1M per week in late October, which is about $50M a year.
If that run rate keeps climbing with the fleet and reaches about $2M per week by December, Q4 lands close to $20M. Even if the run rate stalls right where it is, Q4 still lands around $13M.
And that's Austin alone, before counting the other five driverless cities.
Against Wall Street's roughly $28.5B consensus for Tesla's Q4 revenue, that's still only about 0.05% to 0.07% of the quarter.
But a much bigger lever hasn't even been pulled yet. Tesla is targeting Q2 2027 for the first customer-owned cars to join the network, so the fleet can grow without Tesla building or buying every single car.
Skeptics will laugh Robotaxi off as a rounding error on Tesla's income statement. But rounding errors aren't supposed to double in a month, and they definitely aren't supposed to drive themselves 😇
No steering wheel. No pedals. No problem.
Open the app: a gold Cybercab is 120 feet away and pulling up. Tap Start Ride, run a downtown errand, hop back in for the next stop.
This is just a normal Monday morning now. Love this one!
Cybertruck doing truck things.
A stack of lumber at Home Depot, tailgate down, and at least 10 strangers walked up to compliment it. Some didn't even realize the back was a real truck bed.
Still the best conversation starter in any parking lot. Great haul!
831 square miles of Tesla Robotaxi coverage.
Fort Worth just made it 7 Robotaxi cities, and Texas alone is 750 of those miles: Austin 272, Houston 254, Fort Worth 143, Dallas 81.

Half a million miles on a 2017 Model S. 🤯
503,302 on the odometer. Ex-Uber car, about 55,000 miles a year on free lifetime Supercharging.
Motors were replaced 2-3 times along the way.
What's the highest-mileage Tesla you've seen?
2017 Tesla Model S P90 with 503,303 miles (809,988 km) on the clock.
The owner purchased the car from an Uber driver who averaged 55,000 miles (88,514 km) annually and spent 31 days of his life at a charging station.
The vehicle was equipped with free supercharging for life, the motors were replaced 2-3 times, the service history doesn’t show whether the batteries were replaced.
