A significant milestone for @GenRobotic. 🇮🇳 We’ve signed an MoU with the Govt of Tamil Nadu for a planned ₹150 crore investment over the next 5 years to strengthen our robotics manufacturing capabilities, create opportunities, serve society and build for global markets. Grateful to Thiru. @actorvijay, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, and Smt. @Keerthana4VNR, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, for their support and confidence. Our vision remains simple: build world-class robotics from India, create meaningful impact for society, and take Indian innovation to the world. 🚀 @CMOTamilnadu @Guidance_TN #Genrobotics #TamilNadu #Robotics #MakeInIndia

Zoho-backed @GenRobotic is scaling up after a profitable year and preparing for its next growth phase. 👇 Robotics startup Genrobotics reported a 35% jump in FY26 revenue to ₹43.7 Cr, while its PAT nearly tripled to ₹2.6 Cr. The startup is now in talks to raise ₹150 Cr in a Series B round, with 80–90% of the fresh capital earmarked for expanding its manufacturing capacity. "My focus is on expanding our production centres because we need more manufacturing capacity. This year, we have a ₹155 Cr revenue pipeline, of which nearly ₹100 Cr is already booked through tenders, purchase orders and other contracts," CEO Vimal Govind MK said. Known for its sewer-cleaning robot Bandicoot, Genrobotics is also expanding into medical robotics, defence and spacetech as India's industrial robotics market gathers momentum. 🔗 To read the article in detail, click here: 4-2.co/4yl0iGg #News #Robotics #Funding #DeepTech #IndianStartups

In 2015, three people died inside a manhole in Kozhikode. An autorickshaw driver had stopped to help two municipal workers who had entered a drain to clear a blockage. None of them came out. Four engineering students from MES College of Engineering in Kerala could not move past it. Co-founder Rashid recalls: "Until then, we didn't even know what a manhole was. In our village, there was no manhole system. When we learned about this incident, we realised the scale of the issue and how deep the problem ran." Manual scavenging has been banned in India since 1993. It still claims a life every five days. Workers enter manholes breathing hydrogen sulphide, ammonia, and methane in near-zero visibility, almost always without gear. Nearly all are from marginalised communities, dying before fifty and leaving behind children who inherit the same work. The technology to change this simply did not exist. So Vimal Govind MK, Arun George, Nikhil NP, and Rashid K built it. After graduation, the four took corporate jobs, but the problem never left. In 2017, the Kerala government sought a robotic solution. They quit, returned to Kerala, and built Bandicoot: a 50-kg pneumatic spider-robot that descends into a manhole, expands its legs for stability, sweeps the floor with a 360-degree arm, and finishes in 45 minutes what three workers take two hours to do. Manual scavengers who once entered manholes now operate Bandicoot from above. PM Modi launched Bandicoot 2.0. The robots now operate across 22 Indian states and in four countries. The founders made Forbes Under 30 Asia. And the Indian government has officially replaced the term "manhole" with "machine hole." That last detail is small. But what it signals is not: a country slowly beginning to reckon with what it once asked human beings to do. @GenRobotic

Nicely done 🇮🇳 INDIA ROBOTICS in Singapore🇸🇬. Also a reminder to ALL Indian startups -- the US 🇺🇸 is NOT your default launch market. I first heard of Genrobotics (@GenRobotic) via the Kerala Startup Mission a few years ago but never ended up connecting. Seeing this now genuinely makes me smile. Such companies just stay underground (Pun intended) They’ve stayed focused on building a solid product in a niche space. No noise, no hype, just execution. Bandicoot robots going into sewers and manholes, taking on the dull, dirty and dangerous work. This is EXACTLY what robots should be doing. They’ve raised just $6M from @Zoho , @anandmahindra , @unicornindia Ventures, Sea Fund and others, and now gone on to win a Singapore government contract after outperforming 600 global competitors. These guys went where the problem existed, built for it, and won. This is how you build. Read more here: tinyurl.com/3pbjk4kr

BPCL: Powering Dignity Through Cancer Care and Safe Sanitation Every day in India, lives are shaped by moments of vulnerability - inside hospitals where families battle cancer, and beneath our streets where sanitation workers risk their lives to keep cities running. Through its #CancerCare initiatives, BPCL is helping strengthen access to screening, early detection, treatment, and rehabilitation for patients from underserved communities - supporting care across multiple government and charitable hospitals, and reaching over 1.5 lakh individuals through its interventions. At the same time, BPCL is helping end one of India’s most dangerous practices. With #Bandicoot - India’s AI-powered sewer-cleaning robot - BPCL is enabling safer, mechanised sanitation, ensuring workers no longer have to enter toxic manholes and sewers, and can work with safety and dignity. From hospital wards to city streets, BPCL’s work is guided by one belief: safety, dignity, and care are meant for everyone, everywhere.
