Reminded once again today of why I believe a true plurality of pastors/elders leading and shepherding a church together is so important…7 quick reasons…
1. It reflects the New Testament pattern. Churches were led by qualified elders, not one lone leader carrying everything alone.
2. It protects the church. Shared leadership brings wisdom and accountability.
3. It protects the pastors. No man is meant to carry the spiritual weight of a church by himself.
4. It brings different gifts to the table. Again, one elder can’t do it all…a team is better.
5. It helps prevent pride and control. Plurality reminds us that Jesus is the Chief Shepherd, not any one pastor.
6. It strengthens decision-making. Prayerful, godly leaders seeking the Lord together will usually make wiser decisions than one pastor alone.
7. It helps to assure better, more intentional pastoral care for the congregation…nursery to the nursing home.

Since I'm trying to be the old Irish philosopher today, here's my advice to my mates.
When you part from your close friends, tell them you love them as you depart. It's comforting to know that my last words to friends such as Greg Sharpe and Dana Dimel were that I loved them.

Here is what must happen for you to get back in “good shape” both visually and internally.
1) Maintain a slight calorie deficit
2) Perform resistance training
3) Get as active as you can
The vast majority of us need to focus on shedding fat & maintaining / building muscle for both health.
This is the annual reminder to all cross country fans and parents. It’s time to start your training! Getting to all the various points on the course requires you to start preparing now! Let’s go let’s go!!

n case you missed it, Jenessa Ruder, a Norton Community graduate and @huskertfxc freshman, won the javelin title at the USATF U20 Championships.
In her first year as a Husker, Ruder finished seventh at the Big 10 Championships and notched a PB of 177-0 in May, the 13th-best mark in the NCAA West Regional.
Ruder won the competition by just over two feet, taking down Central Missouri freshman Addison Throckmorton, who finished fourth at the NCAA DII Championships.

How many more scandals must we endure — how many more victims must we produce — before we consider biblical qualifications before talent, charisma, and “leadership skills?”
Let’s go Lily! But first there is some business to attend to in Wichita.
Lily Brewer is having an outstanding senior year, setting PR's in everything from the 800M to the 5K! Lily (3) is pictured here with her teammates because finding an individual photo of an OW athlete is like finding a unicorn! All they do is win! @OWTracknField
Started following these ladies a couple years back and they are now the senior leaders! Great people and really fast! Congrats, ladies!!! Can’t wait to see them do some damage in Wichita.

The best players don’t hit more great shots…
…they hit fewer disaster shots.
Smarter targets, better misses, less ego.
That’s the secret.
Bob and I came to KU from western Kansas a year apart, me as a student and Bob as the Voice of the Jayhawks. What a great broadcaster.
Bob Davis, the Voice of the Jayhawks for more than 3 decades, has passed away. His impact on Jayhawk Nation was immense and will never be forgotten.
