Iran's Rezaei said discussions took place regarding the construction of gas pipelines from Russia to Iran, with the aim of both addressing Iran's gas shortages and selling Russian gas to neighboring countries. Russia and Iran also signed documents for the construction of the Rasht-Astara railway line, according to Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Andrey Nikitin. "The section will connect the railway networks of Russia and Iran and will create a seamless route for the delivery of goods to the Persian Gulf and to countries in the South Asian region."
