BREAKING: Donald Trump just announced that he is planning to sue to try and stop Alaska from certifying their election results should Mary Peltola win. He is laying the groundwork for delegitimizing the midterm elections because he knows he's losing. This has to be stopped.

On #WorldOsteoporosisDay, former Public Health Minister @SharonHodgsonMP pressed @Alison_McGovern on the Government’s commitment to universal fracture prevention services by 2030, following her meeting with HM The Queen. She called for the “long-overdue” national implementation plan needed to turn that commitment into reality.

Baroness @HayteratLords has tabled an amendment to the Health Bill requiring the Government & @YvetteCooperMP to publish its plan for universal fracture prevention services by 2030. Writing for @TheHouseMag, she explains why this matters: because these services mean earlier diagnosis of osteoporosis and the prevention of life-limiting injuries for hundreds of thousands of women. politicshome.com/opinion/art…

The British Army’s en route to its first saint.
A wonderful ceremony this evening in Christ the King Cathedral, Mullingar, as the Diocesan Process of Fr Willie’s Cause was closed. A large crowd attended, as did many bishops, incl our Primate @ArchbishopEamon, priests, military personnel & members of Willie’s family. The British Ambassador sent a representative. Thanks to all who made the ceremony so memorable. And to Bishop Tom Deenihan for his support & generosity. So the Cause now goes to Rome. I am no longer Willie’s Postulator, Fr Pascual Cebollada SJ has agreed to serve the @FrWillieDoyle for the Roman Process, so please keep him in your prayers. I will, of course, be here to help him. My next task for Willie is to write the Positio, the formal biography & thesis on his virtues which will be submitted to the Dicastery & will be examined by the historical & theological consultors who will examine Willie’s Cause. My postulation work is not over: I am Postulator to two other Causes now, so I have to prepare them for their Diocesan processes. More on them later. Thank you, friends, for your prayers, support & kindness. #WillieDoyle

Tomorrow is World Osteoporosis Day. For the past two weeks, we've been sharing some of the many factors that can increase your risk of osteoporosis and broken bones. Tomorrow, we'd love your help to spread the word. Every share, comment and like helps our messages reach someone who may not realise they're at risk. Together, we can raise awareness of osteoporosis, encourage earlier diagnosis and help prevent more broken bones. #WorldOsteoporosisDay #BoneHealth

Much punchier accusations from Sir Malcolm Rifkind - a former defence and foreign secretary: "I choose my words very carefully. I think this week Donald Trump has shown himself as a person to be repulsive; as a President of the United States to be a disgrace to his own people as well as to his international responsibilities. "We all know his actual reasons for this are a grubby attempt to win a few more votes in the midterms by trying to get oil prices down. "In order to achieve that, he has not only betrayed Ukraine in the middle of a war, fighting for its very existence, but he is also directly - not indirectly - directly responsible for the deaths of many Ukrainians who will not now be protected by the attempts that have been successfully made using intelligence provided indirectly by the United States." xitter.cf/breeallegretti/status/…

BREAKING: Billionaire Sir Richard Branson unleashes a SCORCHING attack on Trump and his disgusting cozying up to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. This is EXACTLY the kind of thing that gets under Trump's skin... "I thought I’d never have to say this in my lifetime, but this is 2026, and sadly nothing is what it used to be," Branson, the founder of Virgin Group, wrote on LinkedIn. "The Trump administration has become an appeaser to autocrats and dictators, putting their personal whims before the best interests of the American people and those of the free world. What is it about Putin that President Trump fawns over?" "How will America’s allies ever be able to trust this administration again when they are now turning against them at a time of war and suffering?" he asked. Trump has repeatedly betrayed our Ukrainian allies in recent days. First, he announced a stunning deal with Putin to allow millions of barrels of diesel into the global markets, a move that will directly pump money into the Russian war machine. Then, he began a concerted smear campaign against President Zelenskyy and said that Putin is easier to deal with. The backstabbing escalated when Washington failed to provide its usual early warning to Kyiv of an incoming Russian ballistic missile attack. Now, it appears that the White House ordered a temporary disruption of Starshield, a military version of Elon Musk's Starlink that the Ukrainian armed forces rely upon. "The slowdown of Starlink/Starshield and the inexplicable lack of advance warning of Russian missile launches have already caused Ukrainian civilians to die unnecessarily," wrote Branson. "How much worse can it get?" "If one thing is clear it’s that European leaders must overcome the initial shock about Trump’s recent actions and step up to the plate. It’s as much about Europe’s freedom as it is about Ukraine’s sovereignty. Both are worth fighting for," he continued. "All options should be on the table now, from the transfer of frozen Russian assets to Ukraine to the delivery of advanced weapons systems such as Germany’s Taurus." "Why oh why is this happening? We cannot let the free world be dismantled before our very eyes," Branson concluded. We couldn't agree more. Trump is an enemy to Ukraine, an enemy to democracy, and an enemy to the American people. When Democrats retake power, we have our work cut out for us. Every last trace of this monstrous man's legacy must be erased. Please ❤️ and share if you think that Trump is Putin's puppet!

From The Telegraph: Donald Trump has been threatened with “sanctions” by a judge for refusing to co-operate in the defamation case he has brought against the BBC, court papers reveal. Judge Enjoliqué Lett rapped Mr Trump on Friday over his lack of co-operation with the court during the discovery process, when each side can compel the other to provide relevant evidence. The BBC’s lawyers filed five separate motions seeking the US president’s compliance and claimed Mr Trump was having to be dragged “kicking and screaming” to co-operate. According to the latest filings, submitted on Friday by Judge Lett, “the court has admonished the plaintiff for his lack of participation to no avail”. “The court expects strict compliance,” he added, “the failure of which will lead to sanctions.” Legal experts warned the president could face having his suit dismissed in the most extreme case. “Potential sanctions in civil litigation might include award of attorney’s fees and costs and even the dismissal of the plaintiff’s lawsuit,” Jason Sullivan, a lawyer, said. Dmitry Bam, a professor at the University of Maine Law School, said sanctions could be escalated if Mr Trump continued his defiance. “That could again include attorney’s fees, fines, treating certain facts as presumed established against Trump, all the way up to dismissing the case. Most judges would only take that last step as a matter of last resort. “Beyond the case, the court could hold Trump in contempt for violating a discovery order. Even the President must follow ordinary civil procedure rules,” Prof Bam added.

Nansi Williams - the heroic dinner lady who died saving the lives of schoolchildren during the Aberfan disaster... On October 21, 1966, a Welsh school dinner lady Nansi Williams threw herself over five children as a wall of coal waste crashed into their school. All five survived. She did not. That morning, children at Pantglas Junior School in Aberfan, Wales, were preparing for their final day before the half-term holiday. Nansi, a local woman who worked in the school dining hall, was collecting dinner money from pupils. Above the village stood enormous mountains of waste from the nearby coal mine. For years, residents had lived beneath them, despite concerns about their stability. At approximately 9:15 a.m., one of those mountains collapsed. Around 150,000 tonnes of coal waste and water surged down the hillside, smashing into houses and engulfing the school. Inside, Nansi saw the danger approaching. She ordered five children to get down, then threw herself over them, using her own body as a shield. The impact killed her. One of the children, Karen Thomas, later recalled how Nansi had jumped on top of them as glass shattered and the wall collapsed. The children initially did not understand that she was dead. They tried pulling her hair to wake her. When rescuers recovered Nansi's body, accounts say she was still clutching a pound note collected for school dinners. The Aberfan disaster killed 144 people, including 116 children. An official inquiry later placed responsibility squarely on the National Coal Board. The catastrophe had been preventable. Nansi had no children of her own. In her final moments, she saved five who belonged to other families. For decades, her extraordinary sacrifice received little recognition beyond the community that remembered her. Now, approaching the disaster's 60th anniversary in October 2026, a campaign to honor her has succeeded. A commemorative Purple Plaque is scheduled to be unveiled in Aberfan on October 30. Five children went home because Nansi Williams never did. #archaeohistories
