80% of $3 billion tax payers dollars allocated to health , that’s $2.4 billion was given to private health care in this last term of government. No wonder everything is falling apart. People dying in ER, on the street. Kids can’t get their cancer drugs on time. #natbastards

Anthropic is about to make billions in its first share sales, while their CEO warns its AI could threaten the survival of humanity. So a few people get very rich while the rest of us risk everything. That’s the billionaire playbook.

The government claims that ACCS told them the links were originally OK but that "something may have changed in the interim" and that "some of the links may have been broken.” Very unusual for DOIs to break. Perhaps ACCS and the government are simply lying? @AnikaWells

"the federal government has previously taken a dim view of contractors using AI in reports to government. Deloitte last year refunded part of its $440,000 contract with the government after errors were identified, and the consultant firm admitted to using AI"

BBC BROKE EQUALITY LAW AND GOT CAUGHT Carrie Gracie spent 30 years at the @BBC. She spoke fluent Mandarin. She ran the Beijing bureau. She was one of four international editors, two men and two women. Then in 2017 the BBC was forced to publish salary data. Gracie looked at what her male equivalent, the North America editor, was earning. He was on nearly double her salary. She had explicitly said equal pay was a condition of taking the China role. The BBC agreed. Then quietly paid her far less anyway. She asked for equal pay. The BBC offered her a raise that still left her below the men. She turned it down. She resigned from the China post in January 2018 and published an open letter telling the licence fee public exactly what their broadcaster was doing. The BBC then put her through nearly a year of an internal grievance process that went nowhere. It took three meetings with the Director-General and the threat of an employment tribunal before she got a public apology and the backdated pay owed to her. The total came to £361,000. She donated every penny to the Fawcett Society (@fawcettsociety), the gender equality charity. She said the fight was about principle, not the payout. A publicly funded institution, legally obligated to follow equality law, paid women less than men in identical roles, got caught, dragged it out for a year, and only coughed up under threat of a tribunal. That is not a pay oversight. That is a policy. Gracie did not ask for a favour. She asked for what she was owed. The BBC made her fight for it like it was a privilege. A war is coming to the West Bank Yesterday Palestinian resistance fighters conducted a surgical strike against Israeli occupation soldiers, fully in accordance with international law. In response, Israeli government immediately announced that they will do war crimes and started doing war crimes. All the Palestinian villages in the West Bank are under siege, the city of Hebron is under siege. IDF is demolishing house after house, raiding family after family. They said they want to turn Hebron into Rafah. More than 250 families were kicked out into the streets with nothing. People slept on the street last night. The Israeli election is in 3 days, and the Netanyahu-Smotrich government is going to use this to start a war in the West Bank. The only way to stop this is pressure from all directions. We know it works. International pressure worked for the besieged house in Qusra, which still belongs to the Palestinians because of the all-around attention. It can work for Hebron too. But it will require EVERYONE reading this doing everything they can to stop this. Call your representative, hold a demonstration, organise direct action against the occupation’s assets abroad. Keep attention on the West Bank. ACT NOW.

Banning non-citizens from accessing welfare and NDIS payments would boost the budget by another $2 billion, said Shadow Treasurer Tim Wilson. Tim, my darling boy, do you really not know or understand that the NDIS is only for Australian citizens? Sure, there are some permanent residents, but given that they are projecting that they will kick off 300,000 participants by 2031, the math ain’t mathing. Savings from whom, exactly? How many people are you expecting to exclude? How much of that billion comes from the NDIS, and how much from welfare payments that already have residency restrictions and waiting periods? The figures add up on paper, but you’ve published none of the assumptions needed to establish whether they’re credible. And where have you accounted for the costs transferred to hospitals, state services and families when people are denied disability support? Calling something a Parliamentary Budget Office costing doesn’t absolve you of explaining it. Perhaps you should publish the underlying assumptions, the participant numbers and the separate savings for each programme. Because right now, your $2 billion looks less like a demonstrated saving and more like a number desperately searching for an explanation. Oh. And we intend to make sure you lose the election. Sorry, love. Not just you - you won’t be lonely. You and Jim can set up shop together. Selling, idk, Victorian trinkets or tiny ornate bottles of gin :) (I am here for this) citynews.com.au/2026/coaliti… There’s a hole in your budget, dear Timmy, dear Timmy. @TimWilsonMP

BBC PAID HIM 6X MORE. THE TRIBUNAL SAID THAT WAS ILLEGAL. Samira Ahmed @SamiraAhmedUK presented Newswatch on @BBC for years. Same format. Same length. Same job. Read viewer feedback on camera, wrap it up, go home. Jeremy Vine @theJeremyVine did exactly the same thing on Points of View. She got £440 per episode. He got £3,000. Ahmed spent years trying to fix it quietly through internal BBC processes. The BBC said there was no problem. She filed for tribunal. In January 2020, the tribunal ruled unanimously in her favour. The BBC could not explain the difference. They tried. They argued Vine needed "a glint in the eye" and to be "cheeky." The tribunal said that was not a skill. It was a story the BBC told itself. The total underpayment was close to £700,000. Sarah Montague, another BBC woman, settled separately for around £400,000. The National Union of Journalists flagged around 70 more cases waiting resolution internally. After Ahmed won, 700 BBC women received pay rises. The BBC's statement after losing? They regretted it had gone to tribunal. Not that they paid a woman six times less than a man for the same work for years. Just that it became public. Sources: @guardian, @BBC, @IFJGlobal, Others

When Electoral Commission releases figures, Luxon needs to be asked continuously why he took the right to vote away from some Kiwis. He hasn’t given an answer. The most unpopular PM and first term Government in history should not be making changes to lower voter participation.
