News has broken that the great Sandy Frank, prolific producer/distributor, MST3K icon, and the man who brought Gamera and BATTLE OF THE PLANETS to U.S. television, passed away on October 20th. He was 97 years old. May your memory be a blessing, sir. Rest well, and thank you.

Frankly, anyone who has seen RESIDENT EVIL knows that Austin Abrams deserved to get eaten by that whale. Karma is a bitch, dude. #whalefall🐋

You know what? I was trying to be diplomatic, but I'm done. Fuck Joseph Kahn. His recent tirade against the very system that is the ONLY reason anyone knows his name is the final nail in a very well-nailed coffin.

“Just program it lol. It’s good. It totally fits your vibe.” This is how you actually responded. True.

Darling, as your pic shows, we asked for a “screener” not a “screening.” Two different things. We screened the film, we chose not invite it. At release we were asked to screen your film. We passed.

I did not programme it sight unseen. Not giving this discourse attention, but want to nip that claim in the bud.

Correction: we did not invite ICK.

First, I actually say in the article that I love horror films. You're missing the point. Second, you invited us and I ultimately decided to put my film in only five film festivals by choice. TIFF, Fantastic Fest, Sitges, Rotterdam, Screamfest. No idea what CAA did with the submissions but these are the ones I accepted. If I can remember correctly, I thought Beyond was too close in time to one of those festivals.

Article written by filmmaker Joseph Kahn, whose last feature was a horror movie that was submitted to every festival (including ours) and premiered at TIFF. hollywoodreporter.com/movies…

One of the best films of the year. Bar none.
Karthik Subbaraj's Dorothy - one of the most important releases of 2026 - will not open in NYC this weekend, but will be in 3 theaters in NJ. Please fix @NYCMayor!

I’m obviously biased because I’ve worked with Mike P. Nelson before, but I think he’s a phenomenal filmmaker who always approaches things from a different perspective. ‘BEWARE BOIÚNA’ is exactly that: a really unique take on the giant snake movie that often plays more like a slasher.

You are trash and a racist.
I condemn racism in all its forms, including James Talarico saying white men are America's top terror threat and that he prays to overcome his own 'whiteness,' whatever that means. Only one person in this race has a history of dividing Texans by race, and it’s James Talarico. I will continue to focus on uniting our State and bringing together the broadest possible coalition to fight for Texas, our values, and our families.

me and the #tiff26 gang hypothesized which of our titles reflect the sensibilities of the ol' Vanguard section (the last edition of which was in 2016).
For the uninitiated, VANGUARD (2006 - 2016) was a section at TIFF that featured provocative films that teetered between genre and arthouse, but defying easy categorization. Despite only existing for a decade it came to define a particular kind of "festival" movie. #VanguardLives
