Every physics teacher you had drew the atom wrong. There’s no little planet circling the nucleus. There’s this, and it’s built from 1 random dot at a time.
Each dot is 1 measurement, the exact spot where the electron was found. Measure again and it’s somewhere else. No path, no orbit, no way to predict the next dot.
But stack enough of them and the randomness gives up a shape. This is hydrogen in its 4d state, sampled straight from the Schrödinger equation. Gold and blue mark where the wave is positive and negative.
Cut it open and there’s a shell inside where the electron is never found. Not rarely, never. The wave is exactly zero there.
The electron doesn’t live anywhere. It lives in the odds, and the odds have a shape.
