📺 The biggest shows of 2026 so far. And one programme is absolutely dominating. Claudia Winkleman is single-handedly keeping the licence fee alive.

Such a novel idea from the always brilliant Martin Vander Weyer in @spectator - have a conversation with people who were born abroad and you may get a more interesting perspective about immigration. Let’s hope it catches on!

An interesting point. If, as has been shown, Farage didn't buy his Surrey house from 'I'm a Celebrity' fee, what AML checks did the estate agents/lawyers do?

Finally looks like we may be getting somewhere with STANDING CHARGES @andyburnham at #PMQs just now "“I can tell the House today that I have asked the chancellor and the energy secretary to look at whether we can remove standing charges from gas bills and to report back to this House at the earliest opportunity.”

Submitted my Access to Work application yesterday morning. Got a confirmation text, telling me that they will be in touch about my application "within the next 37 weeks" I actually laughed in disbelief, 37 weeks.

This would be a good solution (which I would support) ...... but the Government just does not have funds to increase welfare, and housing benefit, and this, and that etc ..... in fact they are more likely to make cuts or freezes to welfare. 😬🤬😤
Replying to @TrussellUK
Hopefully to end homeless and make it easier for private tenants @JohnHealey_MP will scrap bedroom tax, unfreeze housing benefit and local housing allowance rates also add £50 on UC which can help many people with food @andyburnham also COL payments of £200 in winter and Spring

BREAKING: "Speculative data center debt is being repackaged and sold to pension and retirement funds, university endowments, and other institutional investors in a manner eerily reminiscent of the subprime bubble," per AFR

There are immense benefits of Gen AI but, as Paris Marx writes here, the harm is currently greater than those benefits. Beware politicians - and former ones - whose promises are hollow

BBC outclassed on investigative reporting by ITV and Channel 4 and stands little chance of ever restoring its reputation with this level of cuts. Shameful.
New: BBC News cutting 100 journalism jobs, saving £5.5m, per intenal email from news chief Rachel Jupp. More to come as well... BBC News has a total savings target of £51m. Only £30.5m of this has been announced to date.
