A game developer with 13 years of experience says he used Claude Code to build his own 3D asset pipeline. Describe an asset → Python drives Blender in the background → export a .glb with rigs, animations and collision geometry. Claude helped build the generation scripts, local API and desktop interface. The builder takeaway: domain expertise helps define what to automate and what usable output should look like. Would you ship AI-generated game assets, or keep them for prototyping?

It's just gone midnight which means it's Election Day, after a spectacular solar eclipse. That's all from Count Binface HQ tonight but I'll be back in the morning. Until then here are some very special pages from Ceefax, broadcast for the very first time from space. Goodnight. x

NVIDIA just dropped a crazy new research idea. Get ready. The same next-token trick behind ChatGPT got pointed at a ragdoll. Honestly the result is unsettling. No exotic new architecture. Chop human motion into a vocabulary of tiny movement tokens. Train a plain GPT to guess the next one, decode it into muscle commands, let physics run. Then the strange part shows up. Shove the character and it catches its own step. Knock it flat and it plants a hand and gets back up. NOBODY wrote a reward for standing up. Here is why this rattles robotics people. Every humanoid team right now is buried under hand-tuned controllers, one for each little skill. 🔵 the old way: script every skill and its reward by hand 🔵 this way: pretrain ONE body on a mountain of motion and the instincts come free Falling and getting up was never programmed. It emerged. Movement is just a language you can autocomplete.

The "Needle of Koschei" of Russia's Energy Sector In the Yamal tundra, near the Pravaya Khetta River, lies what is considered the most vulnerable point in Russia's gas industry — the "Yamal Cross." At this tiny junction, 17 major gas pipelines, each 1.2–1.4 meters in diameter, intersect. Under enormous pressure (54–100 atmospheres), they carry thousands of cubic meters of natural gas every hour. If anything were to happen there, 57% of Russia's electricity generation could disappear. The consequences for Russia's domestic infrastructure would be catastrophic. This single hub handles 85% of all the natural gas produced in Russia. Disrupting it would immediately leave vast regions without power. The energy systems of the Urals and European Russia would face rolling blackouts, while the country's largest industrial plants and factories would be left without electricity and heat.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
While the Yamal Cross is real this is an AI picture that does not accurately show reality. The area is covered in heavy permafrost to the point that the ice covers the pipes to where they become an underground pipeline for most of the year. kolyma-ru.livejournal.com/5138.html bolshoyvopros.ru/questions/4266…

Image-Blaster is a Claude skill that can create an entire 3D environment from a single image. The special sauce here is that it also extracts key environment elements and converts them into their own separate 3D models. Full YT video: youtu.be/jGwnOGLzMl0?si=atrs…

Mustafa Suleyman, CEO of Microsoft AI, on the exact conditions that would require shutting down AI: "If an AI can recursively self-improve, set its own goals, act autonomously, and accrue its own resources, that would be a very powerful system that would require military-grade intervention to be able to stop." He identifies four specific criteria that, taken together, would cross the line: 1. Goal autonomy — it sets its own objectives 2. Autonomous action — it operates without humans 3. Resource acquisition — it can accumulate its own means 4. Recursive self-improvement — the AI can modify its own code Suleyman is clear that the danger only emerges when all four converge. His proposed solution is regulation with precision: "We should just stop freaking out about the regulation part. It's necessary to have regulation. It's good to have regulation. It needs to happen at the right time and in the right way." He draws a direct parallel to nuclear energy: Just as you can't privately build a nuclear power plant regardless of wealth, certain AI capabilities must be treated as restricted activities given their one-to-many impact. The responsibility, he says, sits with model developers, their peers, and governments to audit and regulate these capabilities before they mature. We already know how to regulate dangerous technology. We've done it before. The real question is whether we'll move fast enough to do it right.

On three occasions, Keir Starmer told the House of Commons that "full due process" was followed over the appointment of Peter Mandelson. That raises the serious question of whether he misled parliament. The Times View on why MPs should investigate: thetimes.com/comment/the-tim…

Britain has spent decades run by career politicians. Imagine what would happen if someone like Jim Ratcliffe, who actually built a £14 billion industrial empire, helped shape policy. Meritocracy, real world experience and accountability. Exactly what Westminster lacks.
No Ben, take business men into politics and they become politicians ... so many examples! Keep govt small, follow fiscal conservative principles and let business men get on with business.
