What a strange election year this is turning out to be. We have: A fake Impersonator candidate running for the Senate in AK We have a potential Illegal Alien who has been serving in Congress for almost 7 years. We have former 20-year veteran FBI agents telling us they are running a "shadow Government." We have, approximately 20,000 likely non-citizen voters in California, we have a judge and an appeals court who refuse to do anything about it except to let them continue to count potentially illegal votes. Feel free to add to this.. Wow, what a year it's been.

In addition to incinerating any “authenticity” @MaryPeltola’s ads may have created for her, this puts the Klieg lights on @marceelias as a lawyer. Time for bar complaints against this sleaze artist.

Demand rises for an educational experience that utilizes the great works of literature as a foundational means for building conversations around the human experience? "Imagine that." Students hungering for a classical education. 😁
Imagine that. Harvard is reinventing a great books college. And the students do really want to put down the phones and pick the classics up. “A lot of what we get out of this class is the human experience, and you can’t get that out of AI,” said Peggy Urdan, a government and neuroscience major from Lexington, Mass. “The only way to get anything out of this class is to not use AI.” wsj.com/lifestyle/harvard-cl…

NEW: It's now crystal clear from these newly declassified docs that then-FBI Director Chris Wray and FBI holdovers from the Crossfire Hurricane cabal were trying to get Biden elected and get rid of President Trump by covering up the Biden-Burisma scandal. #GovernmentTransparencyTaskForce justthenews.com/sites/defaul…

The New York Times is not publishing this out of some sudden commitment to journalistic integrity. What happened here is that they found out the story about Democratic corruption was going to come out another way, so they decided to get ahead of it and control the narrative.

How the hell does a network that demands accountability from the most powerful people in America justify airing a deportation horror story that a senior DHS lawyer challenged using the man's own immigration file? CBS's 60 Minutes presented Moussa Diawara as another victim of heartless immigration enforcement. Twenty-five years in America. American wife. Two children. Devastated family. Here's the inconvenient admission buried beneath the emotional spectacle: CBS acknowledged that the United States had every legal right to deport him. His protection concerned removal to Mali. American authorities sent him to Ghana. Ghanaian authorities subsequently returned him to Mali. That's a consequential distinction demanding serious investigation. Instead, viewers got the full emotional production. Then DHS General Counsel James Percival announced he'd examined Diawara's immigration file and said the claimed fear of persecution involved being gay. CBS had emphasized Diawara's conversion to Christianity. Two different persecution accounts. A government credibility challenge. A complicated third-country removal. And a prestigious investigative program whose presentation left critical questions unanswered. Where the fuck was the scrutiny? Where were the hard questions about the original immigration claim? Where was the exhaustive examination of the legal record? Why did the government's credibility objections receive less prominence than the family's heartbreak? CBS knows exactly how to interrogate an administration when it suspects government misconduct. It knows how to demand documents, challenge explanations, dissect contradictions, and treat every unanswered question as evidence that more investigation is necessary. So why should its own editorial decisions escape that standard? This is the corrosive danger of journalism that becomes emotionally invested in its preferred narrative. The audience receives the outrage first, while the complicated facts struggle to catch up. And when those facts complicate the story, the public deserves answers from the people who sold it. CBS demands accountability for everyone it puts under the microscope. Then put the fucking microscope on CBS. Every editorial decision. Every disputed claim. Every omitted question. Make the investigators answer for their investigation. (article below)

KEY ISSUES IN THE 2026 U.S. MIDTERM ELECTIONS "There are two ways of looking at the midterms, now less than three weeks away." "One is as a simple referendum on the issues and politicians of the day. The other involves a far deeper conflict of visions (as Thomas Sowell puts it): socialism versus capitalism, intrusive versus limited government, and the destruction of time-honored institutions and traditions versus their preservation and renewal." "Rarely in American history have the two parties been so far apart or the choice between them so stark. In brief, Islamist-sympathizing socialism is on the ballot against free-market capitalism and American exceptionalism." — @VDHanson ISSUES: Hanson's analysis of some of the issues involved, ranging from the war with Iran to lawfare makes it required reading. LAWFARE: Democrats plan to devote the next two years to impeaching, investigating, and hounding Trump, his administration, and his family in order to block Republican legislation and paralyze the rest of his presidency. THE IRAN WAR: The Left treats the low-cost U.S. campaign that has degraded Iran’s nuclear, military, and economic infrastructure as a lost war and would withdraw leaving them free to threaten the Gulf states, Israel, with its terrorist proxies. ENERGY: Democrats have repeatedly blocked oil and gas leases and pipelines while subsidizing costly solar and wind power and have vowed to phase out natural gas, diesel, and gasoline production as quickly as possible, following the path that has damaged the British and German economies. IMMIGRATION: The Left seeks to dismantle border enforcement and the wall so that illegal entries return to Biden-era levels of 10,000-plus per day, because it will not shift to fully legal, merit-based immigration that would cut off a supply of future constituents. FRAUD: Aggregate federal-program fraud approaches $500 billion a year, with widespread welfare and social-services fraud concentrated in high-benefit blue states where it receives little scrutiny because it helps attract voters. DEI: The contemporary Left treats race, gender, and sexual preference as essential to identity, so a return to power would nullify legal bans on racial preferences, restore race-based admissions and hiring, and revive demands for reparations against those who never practiced slavery. ISLAMISM: Only a quarter-century after 9/11, the Democratic Party has adopted a philo-Islamist view that treats theocratic Islamism as a legitimate alternative to democratic Israel and Western values, equating Iran with Israel and portraying Hamas as an innocent victim, an alliance whose results are already visible in a burning Paris and earlier in the fall of the Shah. *** Trump's version of economy is a "hybrid", as free market policies are applied to only some areas of the economy —notably energy, but still, Trump's version is far superior to that of the anti-capitalist Democrats.

Totally my jam. I feel that pang of sadness of late that we have allowed so many young people in this country to be indoctrinated rather than educated.
Tomorrow we're releasing a full UATX course for free: all 19 lectures of Professor Isabella Reinhardt's Rise and Fall of Ancient Rome, filmed in class with our students. It runs from Rome's mythical founding to the Third Century Crisis. It ends on a question the class spent a whole session arguing about: did Rome ever really fall?

Censorship today requires a great deal of complication: bribes and blackmails, relying on careerism, depending on people’s desire to maintain the good graces of their superiors and powerful industrial interests, industrial cartels, and a strange philosophy of compliance before freedom. Well worth a watch: (1) @DHSGenCounsel was excellent. Stayed on message, was respectful, knowledgeable and pushed back where appropriate. Didn't get overly frustrated with the weird obsessions. (2) shows the bias in how interviews are cut. 60 minutes cut all the good stuff!
WATCH WHAT @60Minutes DIDN’T SHOW YOU. Here’s the FULL, uncut interview with @DHSGenCounsel James Percival.

To this day, I'm not sure which was the most powerful driver of the covid insanity: fear or in-group vs. out-group dynamics.
During the pandemic, I started out fearing COVID. But I ended up fearing people. As the lockdowns continued, I realised something terrifying. A significant proportion of the public seemed to have stopped thinking for themselves. They weren’t asking whether the rules made sense or whether the evidence supported them. They just wanted to be told what to do. And it wasn’t necessarily safety that reassured them. It was obedience itself. 🧵1/4

This collapse is happening in Portland, Seattle, and other cities. These places haven't recovered from the COVID era, which gave us lockdowns, the George Floyd riots, and the de facto legalization of drug-and-crime-generating homeless encampments. A policy disaster.
Portland’s Royal Sonesta: bought for $108.3M in 2016. Now reportedly sold for $6.83M for 220 rooms—just $31,000 per key. A staggering 93.7% price collapse. This is what happens when government fails at public safety, downtown disorder spirals, Measure 110’s consequences go unaddressed, and Multnomah County’s mental-health system fails people in crisis. Tourism doesn’t thrive where visitors feel unsafe and downtown businesses struggle to survive. Portland didn’t get here by accident. Policy choices have consequences—and taxpayers, workers, businesses, and property owners are paying the price. @mitch4portland @pnwpolicyangel @TeacherTiff4PDX @kanalforpdx @MayorKWilson

.@dr_owenanderson is the rare professor who refused to surrender to white guilt. You should follow him to keep up with his ongoing case against @ASU and to see courage in action.
On 12-10-20 I received this email from my director at ASU. The email tells us to decolonize our curriculum and includes a link to a page that explains what this means. On that page, we are told that decolonizing means taking out "elite white men" who are the colonial legacy of oppression. Does that seem like ideological bias to you? I have any more such emails all on public ASU email. Also, ASU ruled that Owen Anderson's classes are too Christian. @CivilRights @HarmeetKDhillon @ASU @ASUNewCollege
