If you are completely new to (economic) theory, I would recommend this short book as beginner friendly reading material:
If you (and others reading this) are completely new to theory, I would recommend reading these short books as beginner's friendly reading materials. This is just a friendly recommendation; you'll find better books eventually. Just avoid Nozick and Hayek.

Gatekeeping my favorite Caribbean barbecue in London because it’s also my regular for pub trivia and I don’t need more competition getting in the way of my £50 bar tab

Matriculated in the MPhil two years ago, still considering a pivot to law.
I matriculated in the DPhil ten years ago today, dropping out of law school at the last minute. Truly a generational fumbling of the bag.

I hadn't read Why Nations Fail, so I never participated in Acemoglu/Robinson discourse on Twitter. But now, having done the reading, and prepped for tonight's interview with Robinson, I think their work is far more thoughtful and creative than the typical academic econ output.
