President Donald Trump is snubbing fellow Republican Bo French in his bid for statewide office.
In both social media posts listing favored Republicans and urging Texans to support the GOP, Trump left out French, the party’s nominee to serve on the Texas Railroad Commission.

It’s not completely clear if Starshield speeds have been fully restored yet for the Ukrainian military, after being throttled for the last week. A brief thread on how speed throttling impacts Ukrainian operations and battlefield dynamics. /1 nytimes.com/2026/10/21/world…

President Zelensky has consistently shown himself to be willing to make sacrifices for peace - despite that fact that Ukraine is the victim of Russia's war of aggression. Putin has never done so, and there's no reason to believe he will start now.

NEW: Trump called Musk and asked him to lift restrictions on a military-grade version of Starlink in Ukraine that the SpaceX chief had throttled, U.S. officials said.
The system was working more normally Thursday, shortly after their conversation, per Us and Ukrainian officials

There’s only 1 party to the conflict that can end the war tomorrow without losing his country, and it’s not the Ukrainians—and that’s true no matter how much Russian agitprop you’ve swallowed.
BREAKING: President Trump provides a stark warning over Ukraine, demanding President Zelenskyy negotiate an end to the conflict while blasting the hundreds of billions sent overseas by the United States.
"Ukraine has to want to settle this war. Zelenskyy has to want to settle this war. And if he doesn't, I think it's going to be a very bad thing."
"We've got nothing back other than high diesel... We have given probably- possibly more money to Ukraine that almost anybody over the years, hundreds of billions of dollars."

Was that same deal on the table before Yorktown, or nah?
Of course, this war needs to end with a deal. That doesn't mean Ukraine needs to surrender.
George Washington did sign a deal to end the Revolution. It was called the Treaty of Paris, and it established America’s boundaries and water rights, handled war debts, allowed for return of prisoners of war, provided restitution for property, and even gave the British the right to navigate the Mississippi River.
That’s how wars end. Mitt Romney doesn’t know this, because Romneys don’t fight wars. Romneys either flee to Europe or stay home and get rich while better men fight wars for them. The Romneys never saw a war they weren’t willing to dodge while demanding better men fight it for them.

I'm so tired of this ridiculous propagandistic meme about "NATO expansion."
Can anyone -- much less Putin -- seriously believe that tanks and troops were going to roll out of Belgium toward Moscow? With close air support by Spain?
NATO is a defensive alliance and in recent years -- given diminished spending and readiness by many NATO members -- it was barely that.
But yes, Ukraine wanted to join the American-led Free World.
I've just written a column on that: washingtontimes.com/news/202…

In case it wasn’t already obvious: being nice to Putin hasn’t achieved peace. And it never will.
Luckily there is at least one easy option that stops Russia’s ballistic missiles from killing civilians and destroying power grids. Starlink.
Ukrainian drones can destroy the launchers, but need access to Starlink over Russian territory to navigate effectively.
This would cost American taxpayers nothing. It would save lives. And it would put real pressure on Putin.

Vladimir Putin is not our friend, and he is certainly no humanitarian. His relentless attacks on innocent civilians in Ukraine show his total disregard for human life.
Appeasement won't end this war. Pressure will.

President Putin is a murderer.
His soldiers use rape as a weapon.
He has launched wars costing thousands of lives.
His agents have stolen children and destroyed families.
Russia today is what President Reagan correctly called it: the evil empire.
Putin is no humanitarian. He’s left nothing but death and destruction from Grozny to Mariupol. He’s killed thousands of civilians and murdered political opponents over his authoritarian terrorist regime. He’s a violent anti-democratic thug who’s left his own people in despair.

This kind of ad isn’t the win some people think it is. Most people find it rather cringe, even if you don’t support Acton. A mother who lost custody of her 12 yo daughter isn’t a trustworthy or sympathetic figure. Bad move, and so close to the election.
BOMBSHELL:
Ohio Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton’s own mother urges voters not to vote for her daughter.
“My name is Donna Arthur and I’m Amy Acton’s mother. I worked at Children and Family Service Association, building one of the first two sexual abuse programs in America.
I love my daughter, but when I saw her lying about her opponent—and it’s not easy for a mother to say this—but Amy has a serious problem.
She is a liar. She lies about her past. She says she grew up living in a tent. None of that is true. She’s lied her entire life.
My daughter needs help, and she can’t help you if she needs help herself. People can change, but first they have to tell the truth, and my daughter still isn’t doing that.
Don’t vote for people who lie. Don’t let her become your governor. If you think she’ll make your life better, you’re fooling yourself. It will only get worse.”
That’s one hell of an October surprise.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
National Review has identified court documentation showing that Cledith Arthur, Donna Arthur's husband, was indicted by a grand jury in 1978 for sexual contact with Acton.
NR also found that Donna Arthur pled guilty to theft in 1996 and was accused of animal abuse in 2021.

Trump called for an energy ceasefire. Ukraine immediately agreed and suspended energy attacks. Putin refused and kept hitting energy targets in Ukraine. But you blame Ukraine. Ridiculous

No one with a consciousness can support Russia when they hit parks, playgrounds and kindergartens intentionally with their missiles, drones and glide bombs.
Fuck Russia, it must bleed.
🇺🇦 Zelensky: A terrible Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. “Shahed” actually hit people directly – in a park near an ordinary cafe. Absolute atrocity. Six people died, including children.
A girl was killed in a wheelchair. Her name was Angelina, she was a little over a year old, she was born in August 2025… Her mother’s name was Inna, she died in the hospital…
The other girl killed was 11 years old. My condolences to her family and friends. Another 14 people were injured, including six children.
We need air defense for Ukraine. We cannot think about money with Russia while it continues its stupid war. We ask NOT to lift sanctions on Russia until the killings stop.
We ask America to be strong, we ask it to apply the Lindsey Graham law. We ask Europe to continue its support. We ask it to do everything possible so that peace comes and security is guaranteed. Ukraine wants peace.
It is Russia that has been insisting on the continuation of the killings all this time. The world has enough power to stop the war. We must finally use this power – against the killers.

They'll have to go through Poland. And, presumably, the 82nd Airborne and USAF's European fighter wings. Hence, they are not, in fact, coming.
This is false Russian propaganda that’s been disproven time and time again.
Ron Johnson blames the US for Putin invading Ukraine: "Just the way we treated Russia after we won the Cold War, how we pushed them. I'm not defending Putin, but we said we were not gonna move NATO one inch to the east. We brought it right to their doorstep basically. What did we think Putin was gonna do?"
