Al Pacino had $50 million. At 70 he found out he had nothing. His accountant ended up in prison. The man from The Godfather and Scarface never looked at his own money. "I wasn't even signing my own checks. The accountant signed them and I just let them go by," he said. "He didn't tell me how much I had or where it was going." Meanwhile the spending never stopped. "The landscaper was getting $400,000 a year, and I don't exaggerate these things." In 2011 the warnings started. The accountant had been running a Ponzi scheme on his celebrity clients. He got seven and a half years in prison. Pacino was left with houses and no cash. "I had property, but I didn't have any money." So one of the greatest actors alive took whatever paid. The first film after the money was gone was Jack and Jill with Adam Sandler. "I did it because I didn't have anything else." In the video below, a few years later, he still says it himself: "I've not seen a paycheck my entire career. I get clothes, I get a house, but I don't know how that happens."
