Of course it does. Fortunately most people in Britain don’t believe a word our own government tells us
JUST IN: 🇬🇧🇷🇺 UK says it has evidence Russia is behind cyberattacks, sabotage and assassinations across Europe.

For the many UK politicians @UKLabour and journalists @BBC who don't know anything about UK trade, here are the highlights: 1. The UK is now predominantly a service exporter. 57% of UK exports are services, which are not affected by EU 'red tape'. 2. UK goods exports have dropped from almost 70% of our total exports in 1997 to just 43% in 2025. This trend began long before Brexit and is tied to Net Zero mandates, high UK energy prices, and EV mandates. 3. Machinery and transport goods, such as cars and aircraft parts, are 42% of all UK goods exports. This is by far the UK's largest export sector, although it is also falling. It was 50% of UK exports in 2000. But if the UK joins the EU's CBAM, companies in this sector will see their imported material costs rise, making their exports even less competitive. 4. Chemicals are the UK's second-largest export sector. They account for 19% of UK goods exports, but this share is shrinking due to UK and EU energy costs and Net Zero regulations. These will increase if the UK joins the EU ETS. 5. Miscellaneous Manufactures account for 11% of UK goods exports. This is still the UK's third-largest export sector, even though it includes many goods the UK no longer makes because of our high Carbon taxes, which will increase if the UK signs up to the EU's even higher ETS on November 20th. 6. Fuels account for 9% of UK exports. This is still the UK's 4th largest goods export sector, even though the current and previous governments are/were trying to destroy it with bans on new exploration and ultra-high taxes. 7. Material Manufactures account for 8% of UK goods exports. This sector includes iron, steel, aluminium, ceramics, and glass manufacturing - industries that have gone, or are going, out of business in the UK because of high UK energy costs, which will rise if the UK joins the EU ETS. 8. These five sectors make up almost 90% of UK exports. The other 5 industry sectors are insignificant. But the government and our journalists think the UK is New Zealand and that the only goods we export are food and live animals to the EU. We don't! UK food and live animal exports to the EU were just 1.3% of the UK's total exports. 9. The government is about to sacrifice all of the export industries listed above to slightly reduce the IMPORT costs of a handful of Supermarkets, at least two of which are privately owned German companies. These savings will not be passed on to UK shoppers because the government has also increased wages again, and supermarket energy costs will increase if we join the EU's ETS. 10. UK exports of food and live animals will not increase because we are paying farmers to not produce them, this has nothing to do with EU red tape. Instead we are paying farmers to plant trees and wildflowers or plaster their farmland with solar panels. (54% of UK electricity is coming from gas today, 12% from solar and 3% from wind.) 11. Write to your MP and tell him to #StoptheReset. If you don't stop this, don't complain when all of our goods export industries have closed because of EU higher carbon taxes, EU higher carbon import tariffs, and the cost of complying with the EU's new packaging and process regulations.

Details on the “Burnham Surrender Deal” struck with his overlords in Brussels
🧵 (1/10) – The EU Reset: What are we actually agreeing to? @CeeMacBee's latest article reviews the leaked press release for the EU-UK Reset, arguing that the deal goes far beyond "reducing trade friction". Her concern? The UK will be handing the EU a blank cheque while British taxpayers, businesses and universities pick up the bill and wave goodbye to their independence. Here's the breakdown 👇

Imagine how high the correlation is between people who are EU fanatics and people who are Net Zero cultists too? Both weird religions.
Andy Burnham’s EU "reset" will leave working families with a bill of £1,220. What will each working family be paying for? Net zero schemes or infrastructure programmes in countries such as Romania & Hungary. The bill would be £23bn over the 10-year plan. Nobody voted for this.

Even Leo Verruca is crawling out from under his rock now. Good job Tusk is occupied with a little local difficulty…
NEW Britain would not get its £5bn annual rebate again if it rejoined the EU, the former Irish leader who helped strike the last Brexit deal has predicted Leo Varadkar says in an interview with The Sunday Times that the famous 1984 discount which Margaret Thatcher secured would not be repeated. It means that Andy Burnham faces having to sell EU membership terms worse than were rejected in the 2016 referendum if he really goes for rejoin. (Varadker also said the EU would want Britain back, would wave demands to adopt the Euro / enter Schengen, and there'd be a chance of getting an emergency break on free movement - so positives there.) Varadker's key quote: “The rebate was at a particular point in time. Back in the 1980s, it was Thatcher who negotiated that. The formula for how you contribute to the European budget is straightforward. It’s a mathematical formula. It’s based on your GDP and then there are some direct elements as well. I think it would be very difficult to make the case for that." (It was Varadker who struck the terms-of-Brexit deal with Boris Johnson in 2019 that finally broke through the impasse, so he knows EU thinking here well.) Interestingly, Michel Barnier, the former EU Brexit negotiator, has said the same to @bbclaurak this weekend - another rebate would be "off the table". House of Commons briefing on the last year Britain fully paid into the EU budget (2020) spells out what that means. The rebate was £5.2bn. Not having the rebate back then would have meant the UK paying £17.8bn more than it got out in 2020. All a reminder of the big battle not yet up and running in this open Brexit "conversation" Burnham has triggered: The cost of re-entry. (Remember, what was painted on the side of the big red Brexit bus in 2016? Not a message on open borders or bendy bananas but one big scary number.) Full story: thetimes.com/uk/politics/art…

Read this thread. If it’s true it means the @UKLabour government is consciously destroying our burgeoning AI and high tech sector out of a slavish desire to be run by the EU and increase the sale of seed potatoes.
Don’t be fooled by the boring diplomatic language in the leaked UK-EU draft statement. Under Point 65, Brussels is attempting a massive regulatory hijack of the UK’s highest-growth sectors—specifically AI, quantum computing, and advanced semiconductors.

It's becoming pretty obvious that The Makerfield Coup was not just about "changing leader". It's a long planned plot to get Britain back in EU, without mandate, and paying £40bn a year into it. If they have been working with foreigners for this, it is essentially treasonous.

A reminder that 77% of our food is either produced domestically or imported from non-EU countries. Only 23% is imported from the EU.

Thought for the day... 🤔 Imagine how Canada would respond if asked to fund development projects in Mississippi in return for the right to trade more energy with the US. But something similar is expected as part of the UK-EU 'reset'... 🤷‍♂️

An Energy Independence Bill which *checks notes* makes us more dependent on imported oil and gas. 🙄
New laws to help cut bills, protect consumers, crack down on rogue companies and put more power in the hands of communities. Today we’re introducing the Energy Independence Bill, a fairer energy system that works for people. Read the full story: gov.uk/government/news/energ…

The money being wasted on enabling Tarquin and Olivia to study in the EU is scandalous
Here are the figures for the UK's participation in the Erasmus Scheme when we were members. Labour has agreed to pay the EU £810 million a year for this scheme, which covers short-term trips to the EU of 2 days to a year. If the same number of students use the scheme, that works out to £42,100 per trip. Enough to pay for a 4-year university course in the UK. #StoptheReset

🤦‍♂️ Wow. 🥀 Just when you think they’ve learnt, Labour have today published their so called ‘Energy Independence Bill’ where they commit to legislating to ban all new petroleum exploration and production licenses.’ 🙃 Oh and for good measure, are changing the objective of the NSTA to move away from Maximum Economic Recovery…which we need now more than ever…to include ‘net zero and transition considerations’. Cmon! 🤪 These people are utterly delusional! Unhinged. Dangerous and totally oblivious the economic and energy threats this country faces. Might as well hang a closed for business sign over Aberdeen and the North Sea. They’ve learnt nothing. We will oppose this. Vote against it. And immediately overturn it when we win the next election.

Is anyone planning to ask an awkward question in Westminster @RupertLowe10 ?
Ich erwarte von der Bundesregierung, dass dies heute in Berlin zum Selensky-Besuch thematisiert wird.

So just to highlight how grotesque and twisted this government is, it is subsidising EU parents sending their kids to British universities, while taxing British parents sending their kids to private schools.
Andy Burnham is planning to spend up to £450m a year subsidising tuition fees for European students. In a major giveaway to Brussels, the Prime Minister is reportedly considering cutting fees for EU students from £38,000 to as low as £9,535, in line with domestic UK undergraduates 🔗 telegraph.co.uk/politics/202…

Petition: Pause military support for Ukraine and hold a referendum The government has spent billions supporting Ukraine in the conflict. We believe this has no strategic or economic interest to the UK and that it’s adversely affected the cost of energy and of living. There should be a pause in the policy until there is a national debate and referendum on the issue. petition.parliament.uk/petit…
