You’ve been seeing very large #bumblebees on the wing for the past while. Why? Okay I’ll tell you why in this quick thread if you promise to #retweet as the more people who know that these are queens the more likely that someone will help some out meaning more colonies next year. Deal? 1/15

I don’t usually like to ‘name and shame’ about this sort of thing because the tourism industry is struggling enough as it is, but Southend Seafront was an utter disgrace today. We travelled all the way down here to take the kids to the beach, and imagine our frustration when we arrived and they weren’t able to have a paddle in the sea because for some reason it was miles away from the bloody beach! I asked someone what the hell was going on and apparently the water is only there for two periods every day and they change the times literally every day as well - surely it would make more sense to always have it at the same time if they absolutely have to share the water with other places because of the shortage due to the heatwave. No wonder so many people are going abroad for their holidays nowadays. More broken Britain. What’s the point in having the longest pier in the world if it’s on top of sand and mud?

Now installed and rescue ready for the Ulverston community. Huge thanks to the Ulverston Parish team for supporting this new community defibrillator. A CPR awareness session will also be held soon to help empower the community to act in a cardiac emergency. @Kerrysr1

Today was the launch of the ‘Cars for Colleges’ scheme at @lakescollege 🚗 Great to work alongside @Cumbriapolice & @CumbriaFire, sharing vital first aid skills, including recognising cardiac arrest. Supporting students in higher-risk industries to build confidence in emergencies helps create safer learning environments across Cumbria. Great to chat to PFCC David Allen too

When it comes to cardiac arrest, quick action = a stronger chance of survival. But only 35% of people feel confident stepping in during an emergency like this. We need to change this. Building CPR confidence and knowledge across the public can help save more lives.
