Today is the second anniversary of my submission of an appeal to the Upper Tribunal against the DBS for putting me on the Children’s Barred List for not socially transitioning a child, and on the 13th January, it will be three years since New College Swindon referred me to the DBS for not following their Gender Reassignment Policy.
In relation to these, some of the key events:
Two weeks after New College Swindon referred me to the DBS they removed their Gender Reassignment Policy and now have a Freedom of Speech Policy which effectively replaces it. Given this, my solicitor has repeatedly demanded that NCS should inform the DBS that their referral was in effect a submission ‘of a blank sheet of paper.’ This follows a principle that has been trite law since the repeal of the 1885 Labouchere Amendment by the Sexual Offences Act 1967 mandating that all convictions and referrals under previous legislative frameworks were annulled, a precedent carried across to the civil code under the Alan Turing principle. Neither NCS nor the DBS have responded to this.
On the 22nd April 2024, the DBS acknowledged they may have erred by ascribing the things that I said to Student B when she instructed me to refer to Student A as a male as having been said to Student A. 18 months later the DBS decided that I was to stay on the barred list because I had not empathised with Student B.
On the 25th November 2025, I eventually had a permissions hearing at the Upper Tribunal. As of today, I still have not had a direction from this, but I have just been informed that a direction is being prepared by the judge and should be issued shortly.
Thank you again for your support and patience as this case grinds on at pace far slower than should be expected given that the judges in both the Employment Appeals Tribunal and the Upper Tribunal have said it covers vitally important issues.
Thank you @tribunaltweets for this outstanding transcript.

“…when asked to call the student by their new name Mr Lister had raised safeguarding concerns, asking whether the student’s parents were supportive and if they had been given counselling and advice.”
No teacher should be compelled to affirm a child’s false transgender identity.
Kevin Lister, a maths teacher, was sacked by New College Swindon in September 2022 for refusing to refer to a biologically female student, aged 17, by their preferred male name and he/him pronouns.
He is appealing against an employment tribunal’s decision that he was not unfairly sacked or discriminated against for his views on gender.

What a crap headline from the BBC.
They could have chosen to say that New College Swindon's Gender Reassignment Policy was unlawful, which was the trust of the day's proceedings, but they didn't.

We are reporting today from the two day employment appeal tribunal of Kevin Lister v New College Swindon at 10.30am before His Honourable Mr Justice Mansfield
Kevin Lister (KL), a maths teacher with twenty years’ experience, lost his case in 2024 when the Bristol tribunal dismissed all claims in March 2024, finding no unlawful direct or indirect discrimination on grounds of religion or belief. His claim of unfair dismissal failed was also dismissed.

Dan Rather spots trouble Trump can't avoid much longer: 'Subject is bound to come up'
"Most Americans don’t want to think about it, but in the background of these developments is this: Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution defines treason against the United States as 'levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.' By any objective measure, lifting Russian sanctions is giving aid and comfort to an enemy," Rather argued.

A brilliant speech in a brilliant debate
In one of the final debates of the @acadofideas festival, panellists discussed Suicidal Empathy: Is the West Killing itself with Kindness?
In this clip, Emma Trimble’s articulate and engaging delivery paints a picture many can relate to. One of the standout speakers of the weekend imo!

Excellent talk at the Battle of Ideas on the concept of Humanitarian extremism and it's no limits operation by @epkaufm
It feels as if Trump is invoking a scorched Earth policy.
He knows he's on track to fall through the floor in the mid terms, so it looks like he wants to take everything down with him.

To announce my pronouns costs me an awful lot.
It says that I comply with and offer fealty to a quasi religious ideology that direct harms the rights of women, the safety of children and the rule of law.
I will not comply.
Congratulations @Sagal_AW
I hope that you will campaign tirelessly to stop FGM within the Somali community, and other immigrant communities, and fight for prosecutions to be bought against any person who aids, abets, counsels or procures a girl to excise, infibulate or otherwise mutilate the whole or any part of her own labia majora, labia minora or clitoris.
This should be a minimum expectation of the country given your heritage and the scourge that this crime is.
We wait for your views on this. Unfortunately, it was not a topic in your election campaign.
My hearings in the EAT and Upper Tribunal are coming as scrutiny starts on the appalling draft conversion therapy bill. I have written to my MP, Danny Kruger, to warn that unavoidable and irreconcilable conflicts will emerge between the courts and Parliament if I am successful.
Letter below:
Dear Danny,
As you know, the Joint Committee on the draft Conversion Practices Bill is currently undertaking its initial meetings to manage the formal pre-legislative scrutiny of the proposed ban.
Had this bill been in place when I was teaching Student A, I could be facing a 5-year jail sentence for not socially transitioning her and for raising safeguarding concerns.
The scrutiny is simultaneous with my two cases. The first of which is on the 20/21st Oct in the Employment Appeals Tribunal and second is on the 14/15th December in the Upper Tribunal.
The case in the Employment Appeals Tribunal is about my rights, under Article 9 of the Human Rights Act, to believe that encouraging a child to believe they are of the opposite sex is a safeguarding failure and to believe that a girl cannot become a boy.
The case in the Upper Tribunal is against the DBS decision to place me on the Children’s Barred List for not following New College Swindon’s Gender Reassignment Policy. This has been through the initial preliminary hearing and the grounds of appeal have been determined by the court as being (1) the decision by the DBS was disproportionate, (2) that the DBS made an error in law by determining that not following New College Swindon’s Gender Reassignment Policy was relevant conduct, (3) that the DBS made an error in law by using irrelevant evidence, and (4) the DBS made an error in law by equating upset with emotional harm.
If I am successful in either of these cases, then there will be a fundamental conflict between the courts and parliament.
That unavoidable and irreconcilable conflict will be a direct result of the Conversion Practices Bill conflicting with so much existing legislation that is designed to protect free speech and provide child protection.
I trust that you can and will engage with this scrutiny process and bring to the fore the conflicts between Parliament and the courts that will exist if my cases are successful.
Yours sincerely,
Kevin Lister
Trump always makes his dumb announcements that have no chance of success on Friday evenings.
Let's see what the bond markets make of this tomorrow.
Trump could have had it all: a Nobel Peace Prize, low gas prices, and Iran on its knees.
Instead, he fucked everything up.
Instead of senselessly bombing Iran, believing in the degenerate idea that a zealous authoritarian regime would simply collapse if you killed its leadership, he could have:
1. Tightened sanctions against Russia.
2. Provided more military aid to Ukraine.
3. Combined low energy prices with the two measures above to finally bring Russia's war against Ukraine to an end and pacify Russia.
4. Worked with grateful European allies and Ukraine to form a coalition to end Iran's nuclear ambitions, instead of launching a war without a plan to secure the Strait of Hormuz and keep energy flowing.
Instead, he started useless trade wars with America's allies, without even having the legal authority to do so, cut aid to Ukraine, colluded with Russia, fucked up the global energy market, and drove up gas prices for Americans.
Now, in a desperate attempt to save his approval ratings, he's doing the exact opposite of what he should be doing.
He's threatening Ukraine with a cutoff of American weapons sales, undermining the American defense manufacturing industry in the middle of an energy crisis that he helped create.
And now, desperately trying to score political points, he's attempting to save the Russian energy sector and shift the blame for his fucked-up war in the Middle East onto Ukraine.
Buying Russian diesel will have almost zero impact on energy prices, but it could help Russia prolong its war against Ukraine for another year or two.
Trump could have strengthened America's alliances, weakened Russia, helped Ukraine win the war, contained Iran, and delivered lower energy prices to American consumers.
Instead, he's a complete fuck-up who is costing Americans and the rest of the world hundreds of billions of dollars and thousands of Ukrainian lives, for no other fucking reason than his complete and utter stupidity.
The Equality Act, with its support for gender ideology with all guard rails removed is today's equivalence of the Nuremburg Race Act of 1935.
When absurd ideologies are pressed into law, absurd results are the inevitable consequences.
This, this and more this.
Please pay attention to the alarmingly technocratic legalism used by Foran here about children… this is so much part of the problem. Abstract ideas about ‘rights’ and ‘equality’, applied by presumably well meaning nerds, which then cause catastrophic problems in the real world, because it is not proportionate or balanced, but is full of exploiters, radicals, predators and deluded people.
Even if Foran can see his own preferred and perhaps even sometimes accurate interpretations of law that he thinks are balanced, proportionate and fair - he is failing to understand that in the real world - in classrooms or medical centres where public servants have no deep understanding of these things, and have been groomed by radical understandings of the law… or online, in charities and NGOs, where predators actively abuse the law… it is just way, way too dangerous to put on the statute books or in legal precedent that there is such a thing as transsexualism and it can apply to children from birth.
It ought to be pure common sense to reject that outright, immediately.

President Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Russian fuel amidst Putin’s ongoing and brutal attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine makes no sense and is a betrayal of the legacy and leadership of the late Senator Lindsey Graham.
While Ukraine fights for its survival, Putin’s war machine continues to prosecute his terrorist war on civilian populations and innocent Ukrainians are dying every day.
Now, Instead of implementing the tough sanctions Lindsey Graham fought to his last breath to enact, President Trump has announced the United States is lifting sanctions on Russian energy, fueling the Putin’s war machine.
As I saw firsthand in Ukraine last month, Putin is losing this war. Ukraine has fought the Russian military to a standstill and reinvented warfare with drones taking the fight into the heart of Russia.
America should not be throwing a lifeline to Putin’s war machine. Now is the time to stand strong against Russian aggression as we did during the first Trump administration.
Putin doesn’t want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. I have no doubt that if Putin overruns Ukraine, it will only be a matter of time until Russia’s military crosses a border that our troops will have to deal with him.
America is the Leader of the Free World. For our National Security, for the security of our Allies in Europe including Ukraine, President Trump should rescind this deal immediately and return to the strong policies of our four years in the White House; impose harsh sanctions on any nation purchasing Russian energy and work with our allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. Government supported child abuse.
Thank you @spudsmonaghan12 for fighting back.
No information has been announced on who these 'community groups' are. They will be queer groups lying in wait for unsuspecting children behind closed doors. Simply astounding that local child safeguarding campaigners haven't been onto this this year.

The classrooms are a front line in the battle for civilisation.
Must read piece by @FraserMyers
"What is unfolding in France is far more troubling, and far more existential, than a mere protest over school funding or a row over classroom sizes. This is not a demand for better ‘education’ as a route into French society, but a rejection of that society and its values. It is an intifada against French civilisation itself."
