the fact that the left are about to do this in Brasil despite insane levels of foreign interference, rightwing election intervention and outright violence may signal a turning point however, Lula actually has to take more significant steps to build on the ground power this time
With 83% of ballots counted, Lula leads by 3 million votes and his chance of winning is... 99.9% It's Bolsover.

Known for his support for Palestine, President Lula da Silva has won the Brazilian presidency once again, defeating candidate Flavio Bolsonaro—who was backed by the occupation and the United States.

Good win over evil for once.
Huge news for Latin America, and the world: Lula da Silva has won reelection in Brazil, despite blatant electoral meddling by the US. Brazil is the biggest country in Latin America, a major geopolitical power, and a founding member of BRICS. The US empire wanted to put back in power the corrupt, far-right Bolsonaro dynasty, which is extremely pro-US and pro-Israel. The Bolsonaros vowed to minimize Brazil's role in BRICS, serve the interests of Brazilian oligarchs and big landlords at the expense of the working class, uphold the global US dollar system, and let US corporations plunder Brazil's natural resources -- especially its rare earths and critical minerals, which the US wants to reduce its reliance on China. In contrast, Lula comes from a poor family and has always put the interests of the working class first. He has a non-aligned foreign policy, 100% supports Palestine, strongly believes in the importance of Global South integration and cooperation, and was a co-founder of BRICS. Lula will deepen Brazil's partnership with China and the rest of the Global South. He will also continue to push for the transformation of the international financial system and will challenge the global dominance of the US dollar, which infuriates Washington.

Some of our young people are fabulous.
this young interviewer completely embarrasses christopher luxon, who tries to say the kid doesn't know the details of the move-on bill, only for the kid to come back and grill him on the details, while luxon just stammers and deflects. clip via voteotago on instagram

Lula wins in Brazil. I hope the Right like crying because they are going to be doing a lot of it. Pedro Sanchez will win next in Spain. Now Lula needs to lock up all the traitors who tried to fix the election. They will cry over that too, keep crying those tears are so sweet.

I spent this morning at Avondale Markets enrolling people to vote. Unlike previous elections there were no Elections staff present to take enrolments. And they have not been present at any previous market this year. This cannot be accidental. #NZPolitics

Attention @ElectoralCommNZ This appears to be in breach of the Electoral Act.. – at New Zealand
Voted today. I was going to give my candidate vote to NZ First because a local social media poll showed them ahead of National, but then I read that NZ First supporters are just more likely to use social media for politics, so I stuck with the foolproof plan 💙🩷
