Voters flipped to Republicans because the Democrats screwed up on affordability, but tariffs, more government spending, higher gas prices, and higher basically everything prices did nothing about it.
Now they’re flipping back to Democrats for the same reason.
People are desperate for anyone who claims they can fix it. The problem is there are no solutions, only tradeoffs, and almost nobody is willing to pay the actual cost of any of them.
They want more government programs and Social Security preserved, without higher taxes, more debt, or more inflation.
They want the growth AI and robotics would deliver, but not the data centers, and some are already pushing moratoriums.
The old America, one income supporting a family, affordable houses, stable jobs, is gone. Bringing anything like it back would require real sacrifices, probably the results of which will not even be seen in decades.
Yet when people are already squeezed by the present, those sacrifices become politically impossible. None of the real tradeoffs are pleasant.
The easy paths of South Africanizing the country through more redistribution, stagnation, nationalization, degrowth, feel better in the short run and will just accelerate decline.
The only route to a better future is hard, slow, and politically toxic, so the odds of actually taking it aren’t high.

Bret Weinstein announced a plan to turn the Libertarian Party into the American Liberty Party: not a third party, but a second party built on ballot access the Libertarians already have.
BRET: And the idea is to take over the Libertarian Party and to rebrand it the American Liberty Party. So you wanna put up the American Liberty Party site so people can see what we're talking about.
Now you will see that the slogan here, it says the new home for the America First movement. And I wanna point out that America First is a fraught term. What we mean here is America First in the sort of most obvious sense of the term.
American policy should always be in the interests of the American people. There's no excuse for the American government making policy that isn't in the interests of the public.
Now, lots of things can be in the interest of the public. Can foreign aid ever be in the interests of the American public? Of course it can. Of course, yes. Immigration, of course. But we have to have a discussion in which the American people's interests are absolutely overriding and we don't have that. At the moment what we have is governmental policy, which is at best indifferent to the wellbeing of the American public.
So we are very interested in anybody, any patriotic American who is in line with the values expressed in our constitution, founding ethos of the country. If you want the country to function of those values, then this is the party for you.
If you want to use America as a weapon, if you want it to be some kind of ethnostate for certain people, no, that is not what this movement is at all.
This is about, frankly, a division that comes down to us and them. I hate to talk in us and them terms, but the us is everybody who wants a system that is fair, that provides equal protection under the law, that provides access to the market for everyone.
HEATHER: The us could be nearly everyone.
BRET: It should be everyone. It's everybody worth talking to. And the them is anybody who decides that they want something else, that they want special advantages for their people or whatever, or they want to use America as a weapon in some fight that is not our fight.
So we're talking about effectively a second party, we're talking about an American effort, but one that is resolutely in favor of either rescuing the West or reinventing it.

So glad my ancestors fought and died to build a functional, cohesive society all so we could throw that in the sea because a bunch of bleeding hearts didn't want to be "intolerant" lol

I for one expected a better campaign from Lindsey Graham's retarded sister
Michigan just elected a Medicare for All senator after Vermont, Colorado and California already tried single payer and abandoned it once the real cost showed up.
Vermont signed Green Mountain Care in 2011. By 2014, it needed $2.6 billion a year in new taxes, an 11.5% payroll tax plus an income tax up to 9.5%, so Shumlin ended it.
Colorado put ColoradoCare on the ballot in 2016 with a 10% payroll tax and lost 79-21, including in counties Clinton carried.
California’s Senate passed a single payer bill in 2017, its own committee priced it near $400 billion a year, and so the Assembly speaker shelved it.
Those states couldn’t make it fund itself. El Sayed now wants the same system for 340 million people.
Texas and Michigan just elected senators who think Jesus wants them to flip tables while they push spending that exceeds every dollar the federal government collects in income taxes.
When Talarico compared his win to Jesus clearing the Temple he was telling supporters the other side is the injustice that needs overturning.
After El-Sayed beat Rogers he told him he chose hate, even though fellow Democrat Haley Stevens had already said El-Sayed wasn’t fit to serve.
With only 54 seats they still fall short of 60, so both want to kill the filibuster and add Supreme Court justices.

Every argument with the Left, if continued deeply enough, ends in violent murder.
Scott Galloway calls Elon Musk a "traitor to the West" and invokes the executions of the Rosenbergs after WW2.
"We lined up the Rosenbergs against a wall. This is a traitor to the West, and he should be held to the same standards as every other traitor in the West."
*Applause*
These people are absolutely unhinged.

@BretWeinstein calls on supporters of the strategy to sign up, because there are honorable figures on the left and right who will embrace the strategy if the public supports it.

The $30 million spent to oust Thomas Massie could have been better spent in Iowa, Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kansas, and Ohio. But thank God Ed Gallrein can rubber stamp Trump’s agenda in a minority, MAGA!

Dave Smith confronts the Turning Point USA crew on why they never lifted a finger to defend Thomas Massie, even though he was one of Charlie Kirk’s favorite congressmen.
SMITH: “I know that Charlie’s favorite congressman was Thomas Massie.”
“So when he was unseated by the lobby for Israel, representing this other wing that you’re talking about, that I guess Turning Point and Charlie didn’t represent, why didn’t you guys lift a finger to defend him?”
“Why didn’t the biggest youth outreach Republican organization in the country say anything in the name of Charlie Kirk about his favorite congressman?”
Watch how TPUSA responds.
