The Ramaswamy ad has pushed the largest newspaper in Ohio, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, to reverse its position on endorsements. "A candidate who uses childhood sexual abuse as a weapon against the person who endured it has crossed a line that Ohioans should defend, whatever their party.Β  We are better than this. We have a responsibility to show it. Today we endorse Democrat Amy Acton for governor." cleveland.com/open/2026/10/w…

With the way certain Dems on here are talking about Josh Turek, you'd think his "moderate" views on trans people were just about sports or something. This guy is advocating for trans people to have their healthcare taken away and somehow Lib ET isn't universally condemning him.

Here’s the ad that I’m referring to. If Andy can pull this off in a R+30 state like Kentucky, then there’s no excuses for Dems to play into the anti-trans narrative
This is the same answer Andy Beshear made in 2023 when facing these attacks, and he won by 5%. Its not that complicated, y’all

Stop understating this. A trans Hyde Amendment is less like denouncing gay marriage in 2006 and more like denouncing antiretroviral therapy for HIV patients in 2006.
If this was 2006 Josh Turek would be taking about defending traditional marriage. If this was 1956 Josh Turek would be talking about keeping white and black kids to their own spaces. He would be just as spineless in any era, it’s how he is. Nobody’s free until everybody’s free

This has been probably the darkest 24 hours I’ve ever experienced on social media in my life. The things being said about Samuel, his wife, and his small children are unthinkably evil. There is a segment of the so-called β€œChristian” nationalist crowd that has given itself completely over to Satan. I’ve never had more resolve to defeat these subversive demons invading the Right and invading Christianity.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know

That’s a good question. I assumed eventually the gop would take a turnout % lead. Because they had by this point in 2024 Obv democrats would love to hold a turnout lead to weaken the gop advantage with registration itself
This is a pretty big data point. Data as of last night (eight days from the election) shows democrats with a 7% turnout it lead. At that same time in 2024, republicans already had the lead in votes cast and turnout % There is clearly more enthusiasm on the DEM side #flapol

But Turek and Kapture have taken hostile messaging on transgender issues. Using them as something to β€œpunch down on” to win brownie points with voters This is way beyond being on the opposing side of a specific policy point.

Brazil elected Lula again tonight. Poll averages appear to have had Lula and FlΓ‘vio Bolsonaro effectively tied, maybe Bolsonaro up 1 on Lula β€” so not sure why the markets had this race at 80-20 Bolsonaro. Markets might miss big in the U.S. midterms in 9 days too.

In one day, two politicians - Bolsonaro in Brazil and Vucic in Serbia - with ties to Trump and his family have lost surprise elections, thanks to high turnout. The rise of the international far-right is not inevitable.
