This is what it looks like when we light money on fire. Encouraging people to drive to the airport is nothing to be proud of. Bringing more traffic to Queens is an own goal. The AirTrain should be free and should offer a one seat ride.
🚗 Major milestone on the Van Wyck Expressway in Queens, NY!
The new HOV lane is OPEN to vehicles with 2+ occupants! Today, NYS announced the completion of major work on the $1.4 billion project that helps reduce congestion and improve airport access.

Mamdani just deployed every red light camera he’s permitted. But that’s only 600 in a city with 13,000+ signalized intersections. We deserve to be safe from red light running every time we cross the street. When Albany gets back to work, let’s turn 600 into 6000.
We know how to make our streets safer, so we did it 600 times.
Red light cameras reduce red light running by 80% and T-bone crashes by 65%. Most importantly, they help New Yorkers get home safely.
That's why we installed new red light cameras at 600 intersections across the five boroughs to help stop dangerous driving before tragedy strikes, and make our streets safer for everyone who walks, rolls, drives, or takes the bus.

Drivers in NYC are out of control. This Benz driver smashed through the fence of William Dougherty Playground. A few more e-bike bills should prevent this

Frustrating how we treat parking an oversized vehicle on the sidewalk as normal, just because it’s too big for the owner’s driveway.
Total privatization of public space. Pedestrians get pushed aside, and local governments look the other way.

There’s full retail occupancy at Union Square, sidewalks and public seating full of people in this video—I’m starting to think they might actually just love traffic.
Flatiron / Union Square looks pretty deserted.
This is what happens when streets meant for transportation are removed, people's transportation options are taken away, and neighborhoods get barricaded.

Just absolutely nothing @ConEdison can do to reduce its property tax burden. They absolutely must have these giant surface parking lots on prime waterfront property.

Every single Republican president in my life has started a war in the Middle East and crashed the economy. Why is ANYONE rightwing, I genuinely don't understand.
Cool how the NYPD is so uninterested in parking enforcement we let people store their Bentley on the street with no license plate. In a functioning city this would be towed within 20 minutes
@NYPDPC are your officers incompetent or are they deciding that this is okay?

“MOAR COPS” is not the solution to every problem.
Have you tried infrastructure as a deterrent? Raised curbs, speed bumps, bollards, bulb-outs, etc.?

Imagine the outcry if a cyclists high on cocaine killed someone. If it’s a driver, we just move on.
Traffic fatalities have become such a regular occurrence that an infant killed by an intoxicated driver doesn’t even produce a peep from @NYCMayor.

Spent last week in CDMX with @UDFNYC, and still in awe of its bus rapid transit — good for riders *and* emergency vehicles.
It's not the main culprit but the weakness of state and local Democratic parties plays a huge roll here. Look at the corruption and ineffectiveness of the NY, BK, and Manhattan Dems.

Most road widenings happened with 0 public input. Trucks just showed up in the middle of the night and bulldozed sidewalks to add a few traffic lanes because traffic engineers said so.
Now, when we want those lanes converted back to sidewalks or bike lanes, it requires 15 public meetings, coordination between 5 different city agencies, and special one-on-one meetings with NIMBYs.
And it still might not happen because that NIMBY knows people in city hall.
A lot of trolls on this here site would unironically prefer the Moses vision. They should be ignored.
