If Manchester City are found guilty on appeal, then the argument is essentially that they won everything by not being constrained by arbitrary financial rules and were therefore able to outspend their rivals. Soโ€ฆ exactly what Manchester United did throughout the 90s and 00s? If Cityโ€™s trophies are โ€œtarnishedโ€ because they had a financial advantage over their rivals, what does that make Unitedโ€™s?
