New: Sources from three countries confirm that the Trump Administration has advocated Viktor Orbán for UN Secretary-General.
The US has encouraged Orbán to enter the race, even bringing him the initial idea of a joint U.S.-Russia-China candidacy.

So it seems we are ready to declare a winner among the pollsters
And it's Pallas. Only firm with all 3 parties within the MoE. Pollara (using their numbers adjusted for the list of candidates) has a lower average error though but I feel getting all 3 parties within MoE is more important

Positive meetings this week with Premier Smith and Municipal Affairs Minister Dan Williams. We agreed to work together on Calgary's immediate priorities, including affordability, infrastructure, and public safety. Thank you both for the constructive conversations!

SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios.
The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios.
Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said.
Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior.

The referendum is behind us. Albertans gave their answers and our party must honour that mandate.
What comes next is the only fight that matters, and it is twelve months away.
Naheed Nenshi's NDP have told us exactly what they will do with power:
🟠 Reopen the drug consumption sites we closed
🟠 Let minors undergo irreversible gender surgeries without their parents' knowledge.
🟠 Shut down school choice.
🟠 Bring back the production cap and the net zero regulations to phase out our energy sector.
🟠 Open border immigration.
🟠 A carbon tax.
🟠 And Avi Lewis in Ottawa pulling Nenshi’s strings.
United, our party will win. Divided the NDP wins and all Albertans would suffer as a result.
The time for division is over.
The time to unite and fight for a stronger Alberta and Canada is now.

💯
"As a party, our position on Alberta and Canada must be clear and unambiguous, just like the mandate given by Albertans a couple of days ago. A strong Alberta within a united Canada is the position of our party and our government. And although members of our party can have whatever views they wish, candidates running under our party banner need to be committed to and support and abide by this position from the day they take out their nomination papers, throughout their candidacy and for the duration of their time serving as MLAs in our caucus."
"It also means we expect every member of our provincial board and members of constituency association boards across the province to uphold the position of our party on this issue and focus their attention and efforts on one singular objective over the next 12 months. And that objective is beating the NDP in every single riding in this province."
"That’s it. That’s all we should be focused on until that job is done. Nothing else matters if we fail on that mission."
I hope every UCP member and supporter will watch this video.

Proud to have been a volunteer and donor to Vote to Stay.
Congratulations to all the individuals, organizations and grassroots groups who worked to keep Alberta in Canada. You came from different backgrounds and political perspectives, but were united by a common purpose. Thank you for standing up for our province and our country. 🇨🇦
And thanks to @montesolberg for his leadership in organizing the group around Vote to Stay.
.@MonteSolberg Statement on Alberta Separation Referendum Results 🇨🇦
DRUMHELLER, AB (Oct. 20, 2026) – Today, Vote to Stay Founder Monte Solberg issued the following statement in response to Albertans' decisive and overwhelming vote to stay in Canada:
"Albertans have spoken loud and clear, voting overwhelmingly to stay in Canada and reject separation.
"Alberta's future is about building a stronger province alongside our fellow Canadians, not breaking our country apart.
"It's time to put the question of separation to rest and get to work building a stronger Alberta within a united Canada.
"Let's close this chapter and move forward together as proud Albertans and patriotic Canadians – focused on making life more affordable, getting pipelines built, developing our energy resources, attracting investment, creating jobs, and securing a brighter and more prosperous future."

A great base of support for independence has been fostered which isn't going away.
Let's work with this and bring Alberta to independence.
That said, trying to turn the UCP into an independence party when 76% of the province isn't ready, is simply stupid.

Dear Friends,
The Alberta provincial election will be in one year. By such time, I will have served as MLA for over 8 years and I will not be seeking re-election.
Thank you to for supporting my efforts to seek freedom and prosperity for Albertans, a blessed land that we love.

Today is a somber day as we reflect on the tragic events at CFB Wainwright.
As Calgary Councillor @DJKelly reminds us, honouring our veterans and those who serve in our military means never taking for granted the freedoms they fought to protect.
Expect long lines. Be patient. And make sure your voice is heard.
Keep Alberta strong in a united Canada. 🇨🇦

Hegseth on Afghanistan:
I was a captain in Afghanistan, and we would go to the headquarters in Kabul, and there would be 50 flags at the headquarters.
It was a beautiful thing to see 50 different countries contributing to the NATO alliance and the ISAF mission there.
Except there were like maybe five that contributed. It was actually closer to one or two that, by the end, were actually involved in kinetic operations.
In fact, the ISAF patch, we would joke that it meant "I Saw Americans Fighting."
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Over 1100 non-American soldiers from 31 US-allied countries were killed fighting in Afghanistan, approximately 1/3 of the total combat deaths.

This is a truly horrific response to a grieving widower, wow. May it haunt Vance for his career.
Vance is confronted by the emotional husband of a soldier killed in Iran War and acts like he had no idea anyone ever died:
Q: It's a hard price to pay. There's a failure in the leadership. How will the leadership be held accountable?
Vance: If there were failures... This is the first time I've heard of this.
