Just to state the obvious: It’s entirely possible to oppose aid to Israel— whether on moral, foreign policy, or financial grounds — without promoting the fiction that such aid, or Israel itself, is responsible for what Americans pay for their groceries.

We gave the Times the chance to do the right thing yesterday. Instead, they’re going with an argument that basically boils down to: *We randomly produced our first ever plume model about the exact same incident that Hunterbrook exposed with a plume model *We randomly took a lead photo of the exact same home on the exact same street *We randomly interviewed the same expert Etc. They wrote a great story. Obviously, we care about the subject deeply. It’s just a huge bummer for our team and the reporters who worked relentlessly on these stories.
Breaking: Several sections of @NYTimes front page story today mirror two earlier Hunterbrook investigations — without attribution.  Images. Methods. Sources. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?

A bid for UN’s top job to clear the diplomatic runway for Greater Israel project and whitewash a systematic genocide. Defending the Gaza tragedy is the résumé; the fox is updating the LinkedIn profile to apply for the henhouse guard job.
I am standing to be Secretary-General because I believe this is a moment to act with greater urgency: to act earlier, bring people together across difference, and drive the work forward until it produces concrete results. That is how we rebuild trust in the United Nations and ensure it delivers meaningful change for the people it exists to serve. My vision: lananusseibeh.org

In July 2024, Lana Nusseibeh publicly and categorically rejected the UN Panel of Experts’ findings of credible evidence that #UAE supports the atrocities and genocide committed by the Rapid Support Forces (#RSF) militia in Sudan. Confronted on CNN, she declared: “No. Those allegations are categorically untrue.” Asked directly whether she disputed the UN experts’ findings, she replied: “Yes, absolutely.” Now, Ms. Nusseibeh seeks to lead the very institution whose findings she so emphatically dismissed in defence of her government. How can she possibly be entrusted with that responsibility? The fundamental question is not whether Nusseibeh was entitled to defend her regime. It is whether someone who placed that defence above the credible findings of UN experts can genuinely be entrusted with upholding the independence, integrity, and authority of the United Nations. Why should the world trust her judgment when the UN’s findings conflict with the interests of the very government that nominated her? The UN highest office is not for protecting a criminal regime from scrutiny and accountability. The seat of the UN Secretary-General should not be for sale!

A young blonde woman with an American accent in Israel says that all the Arabs must be kicked out of Gaza because it is "our land" since "God commanded us to take it." The Palestinians should be kicked out to any other Arab state, she continues, except Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria, "because they are ours." "Or we will kill them," she adds Can we stop pretending that this is a marginal view in Israel? That these are the comments of a fringe minority? They are not. Israel has been on this path for quite some time. Western governments know it fully - yet they continue to fund and enable Israel's genocidal policies.

Israel forces 2200 Palestinians in Hebron, in particular in Ein Deir Baha and Farsh al-Hawa neighbourhoods in the West Bank out of their home with no shelter and continue destroying many houses, industrial sites and businesses with no accountability. benjamin netanyahu, an ICC fugitive for war crimes, is concerned only about the elections and believes this is the best way to cover his failure for the breach of security that caused the killing of two Israeli occupation forces last Friday. Changing the demography, again, and displacing Palestinians has become the norm in the occupied Palestine. The world is weak, watching but not reacting. The Palestinians are left on their own.

Lula vs. Bolsonaro: I was held in solitary confinement for 1,901 days for revealing the truth about the U.S. government's killings and espionage, including against Brazil and its industries. Out of power, Lula fought for my freedom. In power, Lula discussed my persecution with Pope Francis, who decided to meet with my family and offer help. After my release, Lula and I met in Rome to mourn the Holy Father's passing. Lula was kind to my children and asked for nothing in return. In contrast, Jair and Flávio Bolsonaro did nothing and said nothing. Yet without the ability to say no to Washington and Tel Aviv, there can be no domestic policy, only foreign instructions. Those orders are always the same: "Expand our theft of resources and wages, and keep your mouths shut about us murdering children." Sellouts will surrender everything in exchange for a cut, even their own tongues.

This is INSANE. An Israeli man posing as an Iraqi named "Ali"appeared in an i24 News street interview in Paris, criticising pro-Palestinian protesters and praising Israel. But the man was later identified as Israeli citizen Hezi Gangina.

Explain how the killing of two soldiers manning a checkpoint as a part of an illegal military occupation was a “criminal act” please
I’m grieving the deaths of the two Israeli soldiers killed in Hebron today, and praying for the full & speedy recovery of those who were injured. I’ve spoken out loudly this week against Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, which imposes violence on a daily basis, and I will continue to do so. But violence is not the path to ending it — or to achieving safety, freedom, and peace for both Palestinians and Israelis. And neither is collective punishment or ethnic cleansing of an entire neighborhood, or punishing millions of people for the criminal act of two, which Netanyahu has promised to enact in response. I’ve seen a lot this week and I’ll have more to say about in the coming days (I’m on my way home shortly). There is a path to ending this excruciating cycle of violence. It starts by insisting that every life is sacred, that everyone is created in God’s image. For now: Shabbat Shalom, to everyone who believes in the hard work of making peace & justice a reality, for everyone.

Facts
What’s actually going on in Ukraine is that there is a massive incentive difference between the elites and the people. The former have grown very rich off the hundreds of billions flowing to Ukraine, while the latter’s children are conscripted to die in trenches.

The musical initiations for soldiers in the 425th assault regiment. This unit is famous for mass battlefield casualties in suicide missions and systematic beatings, torture, and killings of their own troops. The troops are largely forcibly mobilized old men and drug addicts, often mobilized directly in their methadone replacement clinics. In the second video, you can see a 'happily dancing' old man start coughing out of exhaustion. There have been dozens of deaths from tuberculosis in this unit this year.

By the way, claims that the Nordstream blast was the work of amateurs on a small yacht are rather undermined by this November 2022 report by the BBC's Katya Adler, in which it is clear that the explosion was huge - enough to hurl the steel and concrete pipeline as much as 20 feet upwards from the seabed. '"Look at that, Katya," he jabbed excitedly at the laptop we had balanced in our narrow ship's cabin, which was live-streaming images captured by the drones. "Part of the pipe has shot four, five, maybe six metres straight upwards, at the point where it was blown apart. "Now we can see how the concrete has blasted off, showing jagged edges of the steel underneath - 45 millimetres of steel flattened, ripped straight out. The speed, the force, the explosion must have been huge."' bbc.co.uk/news/world-6363618…

The U.S. has over the past three years spent $11 BILLION in taxpayer money on missile defense for Israel. It has fired more interceptors defending Israel than Israel has. That is not a symbiotic relationship. It is a parasitic one.
