I added this photo of Sonya Massey at her graduation with her son to my installation, “My Sisters” in my exhibition. I hung her photo with one of the gold hoops I was wearing that day. I still have no words. Details below.

Made some fresh tortillas last night and a loaf of bread this morning. Reading Song of Solomon while cuddled up with my fur baby. It’s a blessed Saturday.

Hanif is one of the greatest minds we have. this is so good. this is, perhaps, the look into Jay-Z some people were hoping for previously. it starts as a look back at Reasonable Doubt but it moves to a critique of wealth and power and the idea of Black excellence.

The police/ICE/Feds aren’t even supposed to shoot you for breaking the law. So imagine how egregious it is to justify them shooting someone for assisting a civilian after they were just sprayed with pepper spray. State. Sanctioned. Executions.

ICE killed another person on the streets, they murdered a soccer mom, they kidnapped a five year old after using him as bait to capture people, they kidnapped a two year old. There is no reforming. Abolish is the only answer.

21-year-old activist injured by ICE: I will be blind for life. I have fractures in my skull that they can't fix. I can't sneeze or cough because it's dangerous to. They pulled a piece of plastic the size of a nickel out of my eye. I had shards of metal, glass, and plastic behind my eye and in my skull. They said it was a miracle I survived.

Immensely grateful to @GCAC_Cbus for their support last year through their artist fund grant. It allowed me to invest in professional development as an artist which is invaluable. I am still eating off what those funds made possible! Thank you!

Lol I went to seminary & this would not have been acceptable at my literal DIVINITY SCHOOL b/c it is not academic writing. She wasn't failed for quoting the Bible. She was failed b/c praying that the youth of America aren't impacted by "Satan's lies" is not a critical thought.
For a psychology course at the University Oklahoma, Samantha Fulnecky was asked to write a 650-word essay reacting to an article about how people are perceived based on societal expectations of gender. In her essay, Fulnecky argued that traditional gender roles should not be considered stereotypes. She cited the Bible to support her stance that eliminating gender in society would be "detrimental" because that would put people "farther from God's original plan for humans." She received zero points out of 25 on the essay. Transgender professor, Mel Curtis, said Ms. Fulnecky, failed to use empirical evidence/and called parts of her essay offensive. "To call an entire group of people 'demonic' is highly offensive, especially a minoritized population," the instructor wrote in the online grading platform. Fulnecky says she followed the assignment guidelines and should not be penalized for her religious viewpoints. OU officials point to the formal grade-appeal process as the student awaits a decision. We at Turning Point OU stand with Samantha. We should not be letting mentally ill professors around students. Clearly this professor lacks the intellectual maturity to set her own bias aside and take grading seriously. Professors like this are the very reason conservatives can't voice their beliefs in the classroom. Kuddos to Samantha for leading by example and standing up for what she believes in. @UofOklahoma , do better! #universityofoklahoma #trans #woke @ou_president @uofoklahoma @TPUSA @GovStitt @theoudaily @ounightly @SenadorJett @senmullin
