I told her I wanted to date her, but she said she couldn’t date a broke guy like me. So, I fixed that. 😎💸
When she saw me shining, she came back and said she had accepted my proposal.
I told her, “Sorry, I can’t date a girl who isn’t a virgin. I hope you can fix that too!

The summer she walked out, the silence in the house was louder than any argument they had ever heard.
She had packed her bags in the middle of a Tuesday afternoon, leaving a short note on the kitchen counter about "finally chasing real passion" and "finding the true love she deserved." She had met someone new—a man who promised her a grander life, whirlwind adventures, and a romance straight out of the movies. She believed him, turned her back on her marriage, and left her husband to pull together the shattered pieces of a quiet life with two confused, heartbroken children.
For the first few years, the dad did what he had to do. He learned how to braid hair, how to cook meals that weren't burnt, how to soothe late-night tears, and how to pay the bills on a single income. It wasn't glamorous. There were no grand romantic gestures—just early mornings, late nights, packed lunchboxes, and an unshakable devotion to his kids.
Slowly, the wounds healed. The house, which had once felt empty and bruised, began to fill up with laughter again.
Then came a gentle shift. A kind, soft-spoken woman who owned the neighborhood bookstore began stopping by. At first, it was just small gestures—bringing over baked goods, helping with the community school play, sitting on the porch listening to the dad talk about his days. She didn't try to replace anyone; she simply loved them as they were. Over time, her warm presence mended the last broken edges of their home. Two years ago, under a canopy of string lights in the backyard, the dad married her. The kids held the rings, their faces beaming with genuine joy. They had a mother figure again, not by blood, but by choice and steady devotion.
Meanwhile, the grand romance away from home had dissolved into dust. The "love of her life" turned out to be selfish, volatile, and ultimately unfaithful. As the years wore on and her new life fell apart, the mother began reminiscing about the stability she had thrown away. Nostalgic for what she had sacrificed, she convinced herself that her family had just been waiting for her to come home all along. On a crisp autumn Saturday afternoon, a shiny rental car pulled into the driveway.
She stepped out, wearing a bright silk scarf and carrying a suitcase, a practiced, hopeful smile on her face. She rehearsed her speech in her head how she had learned her lesson, how love had brought her back, how they could finally be a family again.
She walked up the front steps and knocked on the screen door.
The door creaked open, but it wasn't her ex-husband standing there. It was a younger girl, her child, now practically grown, holding a basket of clean laundry.
"Mom?" the girl whispered, frozen in place.
Before the mother could open her arms or launch into her carefully planned apology, heavy footsteps sounded down the hallway. The dad stepped up behind his daughter, putting a protective hand on her shoulder. Behind him, coming out of the kitchen with a wooden spoon in hand, was the woman from the bookstore, wearing an apron and smiling warmly as she asked, "Honey, who’s at the door?"
The air sucked right out of the porch.
The mother looked from the dad's calm, unbothered expression to the gold band shining on his left hand, and then to the warm, comfortable woman standing naturally in the hallway of the life she had abandoned.
"I... I came back," the mother stammered, her suitcase slipping from her grip. "I thought... I thought we could try again."

I think about my first apartment every day. 😭❤️
The little kitchen, the curtains I’ll pick myself, the mattress on the floor if that’s all I can afford, and the peace of finally closing my own door after a long day.
It’s not just an apartment. It’s freedom, peace, and a life I’m praying for.
God, I’ve decorated this house in my head a thousand times. Please make it real. 🥹🤍

I WAS ONLY 17 WHEN I MARRIED A MAN WHO WAS SO AFRAID OF LOSING ME TO ANOTHER MAN THAT HE REFUSED TO LET ME FINISH SCHOOL FIRST. BUT JUST THREE MONTHS AFTER OUR WEDDING, HE FORCED HIMSELF ON ME, STARTED CHEATING WITH OTHER WOMEN, AND LEFT ME TO SUFFER ALONE. 😭💔 NOW, I WISH I HAD LISTENED TO MY PARENTS BEFORE IT WAS TOO LATE.
My parents begged him to wait until I completed my six years of medical school, but he refused. He insisted that he loved me too much to risk losing me to a richer man at university.
I was only seventeen, deeply in love, and convinced that his determination to marry me meant he would never hurt me.
Despite my family's warnings, I chose him over my education and became his wife immediately after secondary school.
Before our wedding, we made one agreement: we would not have sex until I completed medical school. He promised to respect my decision, and I believed him.
Our wedding was beautiful. My family prayed for us, guests celebrated, and I entered marriage believing I had found my lifelong partner.
For three months, everything seemed perfect.
I never imagined that the man who was so desperate to make me his wife would become the very person who shattered my trust.
