UPDATE: Raymond Eden Asiku, one of the individuals who swore an affidavit in the habeas corpus case, has told court that he was detained at the same facility as Sam Mugumya, although he could not identify the location because he was blindfolded. Asiku says Mugumya was alive when they were held together, adding that he and others would help carry Mugumya because he was unable to walk on his own. #MonitorUpdates 📹: Abubaker Lubowa
WATCH: NUP Secretary General @DavidLRubongoya has condemned what he describes as a tendency by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) to deny holding individuals in its custody, amid concerns over the whereabouts of missing persons, including political activist Sam Mugumya. #MonitorUpdates 📹: Abubaker Lubowa

Sembabule is a crime scene
The NRM chose illiterate people as MPs for Sembabule District and rejected all the educated ones. Theodore Ssekikuubo, Jet Tumwebaze and Gorret Namugga were locked out in favour of illiterates Emmanuel Rwashande, Sodo Aine Kaguta and Florence Nambazira. None of the selected MPs have academic qualifications to be in parliament.

The reason our leader was abducted and put behind bars was to erase him politically, and possibly eliminate him for good. If Besigye is politically gone, why labour to want to talk to him? I once said if Mwenda talks, pay attention to what he says. Much of it is factually wrong.
Andrew Mwenda, with a straight face, falsely claimed that the People's Front for Freedom (PFF) did not win a single seat in the current (12th) Parliament, and the host, Terry Kahuma, did not challenge him. PFF has two MPs in the 12th Parliament: ~Betty Aol Ocan, Gulu City Woman MP ~Asinansi Nyakato, Hoima City Woman MP.

Radio is evolving, not dying. In the UK, 87% of adults tune in to Radio every week, in the US it’s 92%. Radio still dominates in car listening globally, in Uganda it remains the most widely used medium, well ahead of TV and social media at 82% of population listening everyday. What could be struggling is the traditional style of listening through FM or AM frequency. Bottom line, the stations currently struggling are those who are not evolving.
Radio generally is a dying media, I’m curious to see how much life it has left across the globe.

It's the hope that kills. At this point, Terry is Mwenda's mouthpiece. He's hosted him 5 or so times in as many months.

OO in one of his common sense lectures.
Ofwono Opondo: I would dare, if you think the gun can rule and sustain, just for a minute, walk downtown (Kampala) without the guns. Walk downtown without escorts and we see. The Capital Gang, Capital FM October 25, 2026.

In 2011, John Nagenda called the then cabinet “very supine” when he decided to give away Mabira Forest to Mehta. I think that’s when he used the “who will bell the cat?” saying. 15 years later, it seems OO is the only politician and NRM ideologue willing to bell the cat.
Ofwono Opondo: In the parliamentary caucus of the NRM, to which I belong, the issue of human rights has been persistent during the five months we have been in Parliament. I have spoken to the Chief Whip and to the NRM leaders in Parliament (ministers), and there has not been any efforts to have that discussion in the caucus. And my reading is that they're unwilling to engage because of repudiation. They don't know what will follow if they allow that discussion in an official forum.

Thank you elder We are all victims of bad governance
On the floor of Parliament this afternoon, Ofwono Opondo, the MP for Older Persons (Eastern Uganda), raised the issue of continued arbitrary arrests, abductions and torture of citizens by security forces. He specifically cited the abduction of Praise Aloikin Opoloje about three weeks ago. He wondered whether this was a new law for the NRM.

It’s nothing short of a miracle that those who once shielded the regime are finally speaking out, acknowledging that the abduction and torture of citizens by @MODVA_UPDF is real and must come to an end.

Medard Lubega Sseggona has expressed concern over the challenges facing his client, former Kampala Lord Mayor @EriasLukwago_, following a last-minute court postponement reportedly caused by a medical emergency involving the presiding judge. @MSseggona said the legal team had deliberately avoided discussing the case extensively in the media to allow court proceedings to continue without unnecessary public commentary. He revealed that no new court date had been confirmed, adding that the lawyers would return to court next week to seek another date. Sseggona also highlighted the family’s financial and emotional difficulties, citing Lukwago’s health concerns and caregiving responsibilities. #NTVNews 🎥: @lbrahim_Kavuma

Justice David Matovu skipped court to tend to his sick mother, effectively stalling the bail application of @EriasLukwago; a critically ill father trapped in prison , desperately seeking release for his own urgent medical attention. No new date has been given! Oh Lord😭

Hanifa Kawooya is one of the most disturbingly unhinged, uncultured, ill-educated, repugnant, overly drunk-on-power Ministers in @KagutaMuseveni’s government. She’s the kind that you’re frankly ashamed to call a leader in your country.

nothing shocks me anymore in this country.
In Uganda, a vehicle can share a number plate with five other vehicles, and it's somehow normal.
