Absolutely despicable. Vic ALP minister Paul Edbrooke had a bullet left on his car with his firefighter number, something only a few people could know as he negotiates with the UFU. Remember the threats they made to Jane Garrett. theage.com.au/national/victo…

Congratulations, President @LulaOficial, on your re-election in Brazil. The relationship between Canada and Brazil has flourished under our partnership. Let’s seize this opportunity to make it even stronger, together — to create major new trade opportunities, protect the environment, and build greater prosperity for both our peoples.

Brazil’s results tonight are a big endorsement for the idea that every country should have a second “are you you sure about that” election a couple weeks after the first one for the important stuff

Yeah I’m not talking huge numbers, but potential Lib->ON movers may have moved back to the Lib column. Agree about a general sense of disengagement though.

Prediction markets also bombed having Bolsonaro around 80% at close of polls. Given that that was in no way a valid read off very close and herded polling, they thought the polls were underselling him.

After wrongly having the incumbent ahead in the first round Brasilian pollsters hedged and herded on a narrow win for the challenger in the second only to be mostly wrong again. (Lula somehow won by 3.5, an unremarkable polling miss overall but the herding is spectacular).

Swap Lula for Burnham and 2022 for 24 and I'm tentative to say, whatever happens in the next few years, we'll be making the same observation here in 28/29. xitter.cf/OwenWntr/status/211452…
Lula improved on his 2022 performance in municipalities with higher incomes

Time for progressive 80 year olds to put popular successors in place please.
Lula now pulling ahead in the Brazilian presidential election. Could be on verge of a major upset. Would mean a fourth term for the 80 year old president.

‼️ We've reached the crossover in counted votes, and I'm confident enough to call the election. Lula will be RE-ELECTED as president of Brazil (>99% chance).

And to Jews. And to pretty much everyone. It’s revolting behaviour that she clearly revelled in and thought she’d get away with.
