Uttar Pradesh assembly elections 2027. Sunday evening slow death update.
1. UP-403 seats.
2. Others-4 seats.
3. INDI alliance - 227 seats.
4. NDA- 172 seats.
5. CM Yogi announces plan for more relief for farmers affected by flood. So far 9 lakh farmers have received 493 crores, so that is roughly 5000 per farmer. PM Modi gave Kisan Samaan Nidhi 2000 per farmer 2 days back.
6. Fertilizer delivery centers remain closed in some numbers due to samiti sachiv and other adhikaari dharna in Lucknow for better payment. Govt has invoked ESMA against some adhikaris. Samitis seem closed for last 2 weeks and farmers are running pillar to post for khaad. Videos of long lines emerge on SM with some showing huge number of women farmers in line. Some reports say many farmers returned home without fertilizer.
7. Several areas in UP see farmer protests. Naimish Nagar in BKT seat, Industrial area affecting farmers in Gyanpur seat, LDA land acquisition in Sarojini Nagar seat, Industrial area land acquisition in Babina seat. Big farmer protests in Chhata seat for restarting sugar mill as a sugar mill and not Ethanol plant, Barhani block farmers in Saiyadraja seat protesting land acquisition for Vindhyachal expressway. Farmers in Chakia seat are protesting as Ben Dharoli nahar is not delivering water to rice farmers as required.Several areas farmers are pareshaan as Dhaan needs to be registered on online portal and the portal is giving some trouble. Some areas the Dhaan Mandi is not yet ready also or have less Kantas.
8. Farmer protests are not new to India, but considering the extensive old chutta pashu mess and the new fertilizer delivery mess coupled with extreme financial distress among farmers, all these spell big trouble for ruling government from an elections perspective.
9. Blocked few handles who constantly accused negative agenda for some payment. Nobody can set any agenda on Twitter. 99% voters are not on Twitter and even if handles are on Twitter, public is smart, public knows whom to vote in and public knows whom to vote out.
