Not just North Wales anyone near the border is doing the same the hit especially over Xmas period will be huge to Welsh retailers
On this day in 2019, I was proud to be photographed in London with my colleague and friend, Ann Widdecombe.
Earlier this year, she was taken from us in a cruel and cowardly attack while simply feeling safe in her own home. Today, I remember Ann with affection, respect and profound sadness.
Those who seek to diminish or excuse such an act reveal only their own moral bankruptcy. Ann deserved dignity, safety and peace in her later years.
Rest in peace, Ann. You are remembered.

WELCOME TO THE SENEDD, WHERE DIVERSITY IS CELEBRATED, UNLESS IT’S DIVERSITY OF THOUGHT.
On @Iromg Show, I explained how the Deputy First Minister refused to take interventions from Reform during a debate on face coverings.
The same politicians who never stop lecturing us about inclusion seem remarkably uncomfortable with opposing views.
All opinions welcome. Terms and conditions apply.
So much for tolerance. So much for debate. So much for democracy.

Listening to Kiera Marshall MS was rather like watching an overzealous sixth-form prefect lecturing the class from the front of the room.
All that self-righteous authority, without quite grasping that the Senedd is a Parliament, not a school assembly.
We are elected to scrutinise the law, not sit quietly through a lecture on approved opinions.
ChatGPT forgot to tell a student union politician that @RUKWales is led by women.
Moments later, Adrian Mason MS gave the same politician a lesson in the basic principles of UK law.
Just another standard week in the Senedd ladies and gents.

🐝 WELCOME TO PLAID CYMRU’S HIVE OF PRIORITIES!
£25,000 for beekeeping lessons in Uganda and Ghana. £300,000 a year for African aid projects.
Meanwhile, Welsh patients wait for treatment and public services are stretched to breaking point.
Labour started it. Plaid carried on buzzzzzzzzzing.
Apparently, putting Wales first is none of their beeswax 🐝

The First Minister had plenty to say about alcohol's health implications today, but had nothing to say about Welsh shoppers heading to Chester and Welsh retailers losing out.
Today's answer from the First Minister completely missed the point, dodging the economic impact.
So, I’ll explain again…. ‘People in North East Wales are crossing the border to buy cheaper alcohol, while Welsh retailers lose business to Chester.’
Plaid Cymru politicians in Flintshire and Wrexham need to explain why they're happy to support this policy and see local families pay more and local businesses lose trade.

CHARITIES KEEP COMMUNITIES GOING. THE WELSH GOVERNMENT KEEPS THEM GUESSING.
Today in the Senedd, I challenged the Deputy First Minister on why charities delivering vital services still face short-term funding, mounting paperwork and uncertainty over their future.
Organisations supporting families in crisis and vulnerable people should be helping those in need, not constantly chasing their next grant.
But the Deputy FM failed to provide a figure for annual funding, a deadline for longer-term grants, or measurable targets for improvement.
Acknowledging the problem is not the same as committing to fix it.
Real partnership isn’t about meetings, strategies or warm words. It’s about delivering meaningful change for the people who rely on these services.
My five-minute Senedd speech 👇
Fflint Wrecsam is told there’s little spare cash for public services - so whilst people wait to be treated and much needed projects such as Clwb Cwtsh in Flintshire are set to be abandoned, what are the Plaid Cymru Government doing…
Well, Wales’s Africa scheme spent nearly £300,000 in 2025–26, including £25,000 on ‘inclusive beekeeping!’
Labour approved the grants; Plaid continues the scheme. Wales must come first. #FflintWrecsam #Wales

Last week on @Iromg, I discussed Plaid’s big fanfare over £100 for households in Council Tax bands A–D: “We are taking action”.
Except they were passing on money coming to Wales from the UK Government.
Meanwhile, Welsh families are paying the price of economically illiterate policies.
One stark example: the same Christmas drinks basket was around £80 in Chester and £115 just 15 minutes away in Wales.
£35 more. Same basket. Different side of the border.
£100 makes a nice headline. It doesn’t disguise a cost-of-living crisis being made worse by the Welsh Government’s own policies.

We live in extraordinary times: guidance appears to outweigh primary legislation, and people working here illegally can still acquire enforceable employment rights.
The Tories presided over it. Labour are happily carrying the torch.
The uniparty consensus in full swing: rights for everyone, apparently, except the employers left to pick up the bill.
I know this will make you choke on your breakfast but er …. this isn’t new and it isn’t an Angie invention. It’s a QUANGO thing!
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) published guidance in 2020 stating that migrants working here ILLEGALLY can still bring harassment claims against their employers! … and LOL the illegal worker can claim compensation under the Equality Act 2010 🤡
I’m adding my voice to the call to secure Flintshire’s Clwb Cwtsh’s future.
I’ve seen how much it means to children and families in Flintshire. This should be bigger than party politics - I’m happy to work cross-party to keep this vital support going.
Labour’s Ken Skates MS called to save the club when he spoke in the Senedd recently and I’ll be adding my own written question on this too

When I mentioned the British Empire during our debate last month, and how it abolished the slave trade, many of them I’m sure burst a blood vessel.

This takes me back to my Senedd campaign… 🥊
The way Starmer punched that bag proved to be exactly how he ran the country: hesitant, awkward and utterly unconvincing.
Perhaps his voters should have taken it as a warning then, and remember it for the future.
What I said in May still stands:
🥊 Hit Labour at the ballot box. Vote Reform at the next General Election. 🇬🇧

Remember who Dominik Tarczyński is.
An elected Polish MEP. Fiercely patriotic. Unapologetic on borders, sovereignty and Poland’s right to say NO to Brussels.
Starmer’s Government barred him from Britain, declaring his presence “not conducive to the public good”.
Apparently defending your country, borders and culture makes you unacceptable in Labour’s Britain.
Now look at Poland. They are refusing to buckle.
Perhaps that’s exactly why voices like @D_Tarczynski’s frighten the establishment 🇵🇱🇬🇧

Thank you, Nigel. Coming from police and military backgrounds, my husband and I understand what service and duty mean.
I want to see a restored Territorial Army doing what it exists to do: defend Britain, its borders and its people.
And my God, there is plenty worth defending 🇬🇧

I welcome @reformparty_uk’s pledge to bring back the Territorial Army name.
My husband proudly served in the TA for 16 years. The name represents something distinctly British: service, duty, tradition and pride in country.
And it represents a principle we should never have lost: government’s first duty is to Britain and the British people 🇬🇧

Six of seven health boards failing to balance their books. Almost £200m annual deficit. No “credible plan” to turn it around.
After 27 years, this isn’t about needing more money. It’s about accountability.
@RUKWales answer: link senior NHS pay and contracts to performance.
Deliver or make way for someone who will. Wales needs Reform 🩵
The NHS in Wales is Plaid-Labour’s crown jewel in financial incompetence.
Six of the seven health boards have failed to balance their books, with a total annual deficit of almost £200 million.
The Left-wing plan of throwing more and more money into an ever-growing black hole and hoping things get better has failed. The only way out of this is by ensuring proper accountability.
Reform Wales will link pay and contracts for health board leadership to performance to enforce real standards amongst senior NHS management.
Failure means you’re fired.

This is what happens when a nation refuses to be pushed around.
Watch Steven explain what’s unfolding in Poland.
Poland shows the strength of a people fiercely protective of their nation, borders, Constitution and right to decide their own future. That national cohesion is extraordinarily difficult for outside forces to break. 🇵🇱
And thank you @SBarrettBar for mentioning Romania. What happened in my birth country, and the EU meddling in its lawful elections, is why I will never accept Brussels interfering in national democracy.
Reform is the line in the sand: Britain will not be dragged back under Brussels’ control.
Our country. Our laws. Our democracy 🇬🇧

Britain imports billions in oil from Guyana while leaving our own resources in the ground.
Same oil. More dependence. British jobs lost.
Net Zero hasn’t stopped us using oil, it’s outsourced the production.
Reform will put British energy, British jobs and British interests first 🇬🇧
Not one Media outlet has reported this detail about Guyana!
Guyana produces over 900,000 barrels of oil a day and its economy grew by 19% in 2025. It has a national resource fund of over $3.3 billion and its public debt is just 27.5% of GDP (fabulous)
And this year to August, Britain has imported £1.2 BILLION of oil from Guyana. (So we can pretend we are saving the planet)
That’s why we are sending grovelling Royals and the PM is crapping himself.
You’re welcome.
