there is always a standing invitation if you want to come to visit. Lyon is great all year around (except August, when it is too hot and everyone is gone on vacation).

We have similar markets in Lyon. Amazing quality fresh produce and half the price of supermarket equivalents! Definitely a massive quality of life upgrade!
33 MEGA Byte sounds rather large. not sure the german internet can handle that much data with their copper wires. Better send it on 33 floppy disks or even better as a truck full of punch cards....

shift to consumption taxes is going to increase wealth inequality and ultimately punish everyone except the richest. If you want to shift to wealth tax from income tax, that might actually help against wealth inequality, but consumption taxes can be a means to change behaviour

or even better, elementary school science fairs from the perspective of reviewer number two.

I would pay good money to read a series of reviews of kids graduation ceromonies, plays and concerts in the style of a snobby NY times reviewer. Maybe as a sidething it could have michelin reviews of kids attempts at cooking ;) Reminds me of this website: thingsihavedrawn.com/

Maybe finding the most boring topic could be a follow up to this paper? pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2321…
There was a lot more in the paper, including contrasting motivational collapse trials with general motivational state, but I hope this little teaser made you interested enough in the paper to check it out!
We then correlated motivational factor with brain activity across tasks, showing general collapse of activity in pgACC with motiv. collapse. Stimulation of same region improves motivation by reducing disengagement showing that this region causally contributes to task engagement!
First Jan built an elegant model in several steps. it classifies trials as disengagement, and then takes out all task specific motiv. factor (such as reward, satiety or trial number) to look at task unrelated fluctation. resid. motivations autocorr shows it fluctates slowly
Our paper on task general motivational fluctuations and collapse is out! This is part of @jangrohn PhD and was done in collaboration with @JeromeSallet , Matthew Rushworth and many others who worked tirelessly to collect the data nature.com/articles/s41467-0… more details in thread

🇪🇺EU citizens, please support our research & go vote in this week’s European elections. Don’t allow anti-science, anti-academic, anti-democracy platforms to dominate the EU parliament! 🇪🇺

don't discourage his genius strategy! I want to see Tim's next grant on grid-cells, the dark genome and the art of motor cycle maintenance.
