A privilege to be at the graduation celebration today for our former students who graduated online in 2020 and 2021.
Many of them I first met at interview days 5/6+ years ago. Especially lovely to see those who worked with me as student ambassadors over the years. #UoYGraduation

This was definitely the case with @UoYLaw this week, with @NoGypsyPrincess. Brilliant speech, and wonderful speaker.

Was brilliant to see Violet Cannon, @NoGypsyPrincess, be awarded her honorary degree. Both Violet and her presenter, Caroline Hunter, spoke so powerfully about Violet's experiences as a Romany Gypsy and her work with York Travellers Trust.
Exactly what Honorary degrees are for.

Gypsy and Traveller communities will soon face the biggest squeeze on the travelling way of life since the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994.
Our solidarity is with all of you. #WeRoamWithYou

“I hope Gypsy and Traveller people across the UK will apply for the Micro Projects Fund to tell their stories, make their voices heard and bring everyone together to learn and celebrate our cultures and lives.”
@NoGypsyPrincess says apply for our fund!👇

I have written urging Netflix to remove Jimmy Carr’s vile anti-GRT and antisemitic material.
I have also requested an update from @DCMS on progress to bring streaming platforms under Ofcom regulation.
My full solidarity with GRT communities, today and always.

Our director @ProudGT was on @bbc5live this afternoon talking about how the Police and Crime Bill will affect the #GT community and how the police need more pitches, not more police powers #KillTheBill

Roadside Futures will provide opportunities for members of nomadic communities in the UK to develop and lead innovative projects which, informed by their own lived experience, have potential to improve the lives of Gypsies and Travellers across the UK. 📢 📢

PayPal denied my Ryanair Cyprus refund as #ryanair are still flying planes. In the meantime, @FCO and @grantshapps do nothing, whilst people are being robbed by @Ryanair .
