A serious reminder for both artists and clients:
AI-generated artwork and art scams are becoming increasingly difficult to identify. Some people are using AI to present themselves as professional artists, while others steal artwork, portfolios, or identities and use them to take commissions.
Before commissioning someone, take a moment to research them.
Look for:
• Consistent artwork across their portfolio
• WIP sketches and progress
• A history of work and clients
• Reverse-image searches when something feels suspicious
• Proof that the person actually owns the artwork they claim to have created
Artists deserve to be paid for their real work, and clients deserve to know exactly who they are paying.
Stay aware. Ask questions. Verify before you commission.
