Every time I visit Tharparkar there is an inspiring event. This time Thar Education Alliance (@TharEduAlliance), SELD and HBL Foundation delivered a quality platform for girls who came from all talukas to Nagarparkar. Many of them were seeing Nagarparkar for the first time.
The panel discussion ran for over two hours. Feedback came right after we stepped off the stage: a Khan Academy employee who had accompanied her cousin to the festival said the audience was hooked. I saw students and guests listening with excitement and curiosity.
Appreciation to the moderator and festival organiser, Partab Shivani (@PartabShiwani), CEO of Thar Education Alliance, and to the guest speakers: chief guest @Qasimsoomro, SACM @Veerji_Kolhi, Senator @KeshooBai, @SindhuSorath, @gabeeno, @afiasalam and Assistant Commissioner Irum Narejo.
The last photo is outside Qasim Soomro's house, where he hosted us for coffee after the event. It was a meaningful conversation about partnerships towards more opportunities for the people of Tharparkar.
Here is to celebrating these talented girls and giving them more opportunities to rise and shine.

These girls so passionately raise the issue of water and how India stopped it and wars can make us dependent offering a solution to be self dependent, they say the 52 dams created shall be used more efficiently. Raising the issue of how everyone wants to leave Pakistan because of lack of facilities here that can be easily provided by govt. Just reached #Islamabad from #Nagarparkar after attending a wonderful Girls STEAM festival with highly talented students showcasing their projects .. will share videos of their innovations tomorrow. So grateful to @PartabShiwani and @TharEduAlliance for this amazing initiative bringing real change in communities. We discussed a way forward in our panel discussion as well and it was great to see MPA @Qasimsoomro taking genuine interest and giving hope to girls for school up-gradations, more science labs, more STEAM labs.
