The best way to reduce chaos on Indian roads is to make fewer people drive and strengthen public transportation. More drivers mean more vehicles, more decisions and ultimately more chaos. Moving more people in fewer vehicles can also reduce congestion and fuel wastage. When traffic slows down, vehicles burn more fuel through idling, frequent braking and acceleration, and longer travel times. At scale, reducing this wastage means lower fuel consumption and potentially less dependence on imported oil. Instead of encouraging more personal vehicles and then building roads to accommodate them, we should focus on moving more people with fewer vehicles !! It saves money and better than mixing ethanol !!
