A new report from Americans for Prosperity says 56% of the swing voters it spoke with viewed the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) unfavorably, up from 50% in September. The group also says 59% believe the Democratic Party is controlled by the far left.
The findings come from AFP’s conversations with more than 81,000 voters across eight states, rather than a traditional nationwide poll. That distinction matters: a separate Gallup poll found 43% of Americans viewed socialism positively, a record high in Gallup’s trend.

Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI chatbot, has filed public IPO paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Commission. It plans to list on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT, but hasn’t set the number of shares or their price. The filing reports nearly $16.3 billion in revenue for the first half of 2026, up from over $1.1 billion in the same period last year.

Republicans fear Libertarian candidates in close Senate races could draw protest votes away from GOP candidates and put the party’s majority at risk. In Ohio, Libertarian Bill Redpath is running against Republican Jon Husted and Democrat Sherrod Brown; in Texas, Libertarian Ted Brown is running alongside Republican Ken Paxton and Democrat James Talarico.
AP also reports that an organization with Republican ties distributed fliers promoting a socialist candidate in an apparent effort to pull votes from Brown, showing spoiler concerns can cut both ways. Polymarket’s Senate-control market gives Democrats about a 66% chance of winning control, compared with 35% for Republicans, on roughly $9.45 million in volume.

The visit marks Trump’s fourth trip to Texas this election season, per CBS.
