THIS IS WHY YOU NEVER ALLOW THIS TYPE OF CONCENTRATION OF POWER; OUR GOVT HAVE BEEN BOUGHT OFF, REGULATORS BECAME PROTECTORS OF A FEW LARGE COMPANIES WHO WOULD SHARE DATA AND INFORMATION ON YOU IN EXCHANGE FOR GOUGING AT A VAMPIRIC LEVEL. AMZ, MSFT, META, GOOG, MA, VISA, TELCO'S, ANYTHING THAT ACTS AND BEHAVES LIKE A UTILITY, LIKE SPEECH, AIR, WATER, POWER, ENERGY, CREDIT CARD PROCESSING, INTERNET, PHONE, TEXT, EDUCATION, HOUSING, FOOD, BANKING, ETC. TAKE AWAY VISA/MASTERCARD AND ITS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO SURVIVE WITHOUT YET THEY ARE ALLOWED TO MAKE 50% GROSS OP- MARGINS, META AND GOOGLE CHARGE 30% FOR REVENUE GENERATED ACROSS THEIR PLATFORM, (and none of these margins required any risk whatsoever, other than fines paid to the Regulators in the billions by ALL of them as a regular course of busienss for decades). COMPETITION RULE; ANY VERTICAL OR INDUSTRY, MARKET THAT HAS LESS THAN 3 DOMINANT PLAYERS, (+50%), Ex; CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS, TELCO, SOCIAL MEDIA, CLOUD SERVICES AND STORAGE, BIG PHARM, ACCOUNTING, BANKING, ETC, IF 70% OF A MARKET IS CONSOLIDATED BY 3 OR LESS PLAYERS IT WILL NOT ALLOW FOR AN OPEN, FAIR, COMPETITIVE, AND INNOVATIVE MARKET PLACE, CREATING A NATIONAL DEFENSE ISSUE IN FACT; PLACING OUR BRAND IN THE HANDS OF A DOZEN COMPANIES IS INSANITY AND NEVER SPURS INNOVATION GOOD FOR THE MAJORITY RATHER THAN MANAGEMENT AND SHAREHOLDERS.

Polkadot is pivoting to World Computer. Arweave is pivoting to World Computer. And essentially a lot of other players are trying to include more, beyond simple tokenomics. They can try. But #ICP was built different from the ground up. Designed to host full-stack on-chain dApps.

HTTPs outcalls on the internet computer $ICP refer to the capability for blockchain smart contracts to make HTTP requests to external APIs or web services. This means that decentralized applications (dApps) running on the internet computer can fetch data from external sources, such as weather updates, financial market prices, or any other relevant information available on the web. Today, the majority of the world's API-accessible data, such as stock prices, football scores, IoT-related data, or crypto exchange prices, is hosted on Web 2.0 services, which is outside the secure on-chain walls of a blockchain. As smart contract software often relies on external web 2-hosted data to implement useful functionality, it is crucial that this data be accessible, first to unfold the full potential of smart contracts, and second, to pave the way for blockchain singularity, whereby the majority of computations run on the blockchain. A common limitation of blockchain technology is that smart contracts can receive messages, but cannot send them to the world outside the blockchain. For example, typical smart contracts can receive messages, but cannot send emails and SMS's, nor can they query wikipedia or send HTTP requests to other services. Historically, this has been a blocker to most software developers diving into Web3. For this reason, obtaining off-chain data requires that a smart contract interact with centralized oracle services, which are in the hands of intermediaries, vulnerable to hacking, and subject to service fees. HTTPS outcalls replace oracles Canister HTTPS outcalls on the Internet Computer blockchain allow direct interaction with Web 2.0 and other blockchains without oracles. Canister smart contracts can make HTTPS outcalls to specified URLs to directly obtain off-chain data, or to interact with off-chain systems, such as Web 2.0 services or enterprise IT infrastructure.

#ICP is the best complementary tech to #Bitcoin, hands down. It enables full-stack Bitcoin ecosystem, for the first time ever. All Bitcoin apps can run and scale e2e on-chain. This is the best design and working solution. Masterful video Bobby. 👌 Cc @OmnityNetwork

Regarding L2s specifically, holistically. Big blockers like to dunk on the "failed" L2s, and specifically Lightning. While there is an element of truth there, there's also short-sightedness. 1) What big blockers are missing. The reason for below expected adoption imo is not technical but simply people not wanting to use #Bitcoin for buying things. If we expect Bitcoin to be the new base monetary system of the world, we are looking at a 100x in a decade. Why would you spend bitcoin now? The answer is, you wouldn't, generally at least. You might sell to fund something important for yourself but not to buy groceries. The potential for the ultimate scarce store of value (L1) is so great that it doesn't make sense to use it as a medium of exchange (L2) yet. It's all about the big picture. 2) What big blockers get right, BUT... It is true that while the Bitcoin L1 aims to be maximally decentralized, the L2s often do not live up to the same standards. There are many custodial solutions built on top of Bitcoin to be able to use the underlying technology. These centralized solutions are often built by the Bitcoin OGs. But while they allow it to be scaled and extended in the short-term, they also go against the underlying crypto ethos. And so I resonate with the skepticism of the current L2 landscape. BUT 👇 3) Think beyond scaling L2, think full-stack. Most of the crypto space is focused on the settlement layer and how to extend that functionality (this is true both for Bitcoin and #Ethereum + killers). But the database is just one part of the overall software architecture. Sure, it is the most critical thing but the weakest link determines the attack/ manipulation vectors. When we're talking about mass adoption, we need simple and secure UX that everybody can use. Unfortunately, current crypto is at the web2.5 stage (decentralized core database with centralized intermediaries in the tech-stack). This is not the end goal but the experimentation phase. The end game is all on-chain. Hence, when thinking about L2, there is now a novel possibility to embed Bitcoin straight into general-purpose dApps, allowing it to scale and be used without traditional centralized means. "Deintermediated money within deintermediated software". So far, only one such technology exists - #ICP - with native Bitcoin and mirror-twin called ckBTC. Practically infinite scalability, low fees, 1-2 sec finality, all on-chain with no centralized intermediaries. 👌
I seem to be converging my opinion on the #Bitcoin blocksize matter. Instead of looking at the numbers alone, we should get the fundamentals right and do our best to make it work. When thinking about blocksize we have to understand that there are always trade-offs. And so we must ask, what is the most important thing. For me, I am in the camp of L1 as a store of value (not medium of exchange, which comes second). Technically, you can't have it all on the base layer. You could move $100T on the L1 within minutes, yet you won't be able to move thousands of transactions per second. This is by design. Some might say, but Eerik, that's not the original vision of Satoshi, he designed a "peer to peer electronic cash system". But hold your horses. First, there's only so much that you can fit into a short whitepaper. The audience of that document dictates the wording. Second, what is the time horizon? That is, if we give us a few decades, we will get there. And third, Bitcoin does not have to equal only Layer 1. Ultimately, Bitcoin will be a peer to peer cash system, but the solution will be in layers. So again, what is the most important thing? Bitcoin L1 is about moving monetary energy through space AND time. That is, not just move but also store the value; and not for days but years, decades, centuries. Proponents of scalable L1 think about moving money fast now, not into the future. But that's a simpler problem and partial solution. L1 is the bedrock, ultimate scarcity, long-term soundness. It's where you (individual, organisation, government, etc) store wealth long-term and are not worried about being fast. L2 is what allows for private and fast transactions, that's the medium of exchange. Here, what BCH crew especially likes to point out are the centralized nature of most L2s. That's their case why this is wrong. They love to point out specific individuals and how they have built (centralized) companies to support the scaling and functionality. But first of all, we need L2 ANYWAY (unless you are a fan of BSV where the blocksize is practically infinite which defeats the entire purpose). And secondly, we CAN have decentralized full-stack L2s, like #ICP, allowing to embed Bitcoin straight into general-purpose dApps without centralized intermediaries. The tech is ready for that. Their problem is not noticing it. I feel that a small blocksize is fundamentally correct regardless. And that we should focus 100% on the ultimate incorruptible scarce asset that will "forever go up". This is the core, much more important than a fast payment system which is easier to do and we have many examples of it. Now, does it mean that the blocksize should stay as is? Not necessarily. As I said, we might need to increase the limit to be able to allow L2s to scale for global adoption. Let's leave the conversation open. But L1 adoption as a store of value is most important.

Truth is, the metaverse on #Bitcoin should and can be built fully on-chain. That is, the entire tech-stack for software on-chain. And this to date is still possible only on #ICP. FULL-STACK #CryptoCloud for general-purpose software. It's a full-stack L2 for Bitcoin. Any software, all on-chain with Internet access, AI capabilities, and direct Bitcoin integration. Imagine that. This includes and is beyond the other L2/ sidechain solutions. It's full-stack dApp ecosystem. youtu.be/2kIQIQ00DKM?si=fM-p…

Many people are perplexed by what is happening in the crypto market. It was supposed to be the year of Bitcoin, but it looks like it is the year of meme coins. So what is happening? There are three things causing this: 1) Hedge funds are investing in meme coins.  A hedge fund manager mentioned they raised funds specifically to invest in meme coins. I don't know how much money they raised, but millions of dollars invested in meme coins will move them dramatically higher.  2) Meme coins provide greater percentage gains than Bitcoin. If Bitcoin moves from $60k to $120k, that is a 100% move. Certainly better than stocks and other ETFs, but not as good as some meme coins which move thousands of percent. At least they have in the past. 3) Most importantly, I think this is likely the last year of meme coins. Why? Because next year we may get crypto legislation. This year we will get stable coin legislation, next year crypto legislation. That makes this year is the last year you can buy meme coins and make a killing.  It's all a cycle. This is the 4th year of the cycle, which is like 2020 all over again for crypto. Hot hot hot. You already know meme coins are speculative, so don't put all of your money in them. Investing this year may make you a bundle, but look for a time to sell them next year. The profits this year will soar, then they will fade away like the dot coms did. They were fun and lucrative while they lasted.
