Today, I hosted leaders and members of the Makerere University Convocation, led by Mr. George Turyamureeba Mugabi.
Makerere University has contributed greatly to my growth and development. I am encouraged by the Convocation’s plans to strengthen leadership, entrepreneurship, management and alumni engagement.
Institutions develop through purposeful leadership. Challenges are inevitable, but effective leaders identify problems, provide direction and find solutions. We must also invest in Africa’s abundant talent by equipping our young people with the skills and opportunities to drive development.
I call upon Makerereans to take an active interest in the Convocation’s work and contribute to the University’s continued growth.
