15/ We're about to surpass 60 humans associated with New Tribes Mission/Ethnos360 up on @ProtAccountDB. That's 44 perpetrators of sexual misconduct, and 16 vicious mishandlers of allegations thereof. The true number is definitely at least 5 times that number.

No! ☝️The real threat to children is churches that fail to put in place protections against clergy sexual abuse perps who groom both children and adults. There are daily reports of these perps! Check out the thousands of perps at the link in this new @ProtAccountDB database!

It’s the right thing to do, but he already caused so much harm and destruction. All enabling pastors who finally see the harm they’ve done should resign from ministry permanently. Ideally, they would also face some form of civil/criminal liability.
In 2011, a man warned Dustin Pennington that the worship leader at his Atlanta-area church was molesting boys. Pennington didn't believe him, and didn't look into it. He now believes the abuse continued for years because of that choice. He resigned from ministry in April and is speaking publicly so other pastors don't repeat it. "I felt like a price needed to be paid," he said. "I needed to fall on my sword." roysreport.com/atlanta-pasto…

We have added over 300 names in the last 5 weeks, almost all from Submission Requests put in through our website. Over 3,000 entries now. Our hope is that by bringing these names and numbers to light, future victims can be prevented.

For 8 years, Mike Johnson was a trustee for the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission. This raises questions about what he knew concerning the SBC’s clergy sex abuse problem — questions he should have to address. My column today (link in replies)

Our database is growing faster than we ever expected—proving how deep this need is. But rapid growth means rising operating costs. If you're looking for a trusted way to support survivors and expose the truth, consider backing us: 🔗 protestantaccountability.org… #SupportSurvivors

This is an excellent example of why the database is necessary. Too many slip through the cracks. Thanks for tagging us, Julie Roys. He has been added. Link in the first comment…
