I genuinely hate "double standard" media criticism, find it extremely tedious, but getting harder to escape the fact that Trump has three to five moments a day any one of which would have driven "Biden: Old and Busted?" coverage for a week
A reporter just asked Trump about the removal of Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia, but referred to him only as "Lt. Gen. Sylvia." "She’s got problems," Trump said. "She’s gonna have big problems. We’re very much looking for leakers"

These motherfuckers didn’t just screw over a Pope with cancer. The whole Oleshky story is a Putin information operation designed to save that old orange ass from electoral defeat. Guys, this needs to become an atomic bomb for the bastards in the White House. If you haven’t written about it yet, share this post. As many people as possible need to know this story. What I had previously only suspected on instinct has now been confirmed. It turns out that the absurd “Melania Trump ceasefire” in Oleshky was literally Putin’s idea. He personally “very much wanted” Melania to act as mediator, her senior adviser Mark Beckman told the Kyiv Independent. Well, you could have guessed that, and I did immediately. A person who can barely string two words together was hardly going to organize something like this better than the Pope. More than that, Putin sent her a special letter saying that Russia officially recognized Melania as its “exclusive intermediary.” Do you understand what that means? Russia has occupied Oleshky for four and a half years, blocked the city, prevented humanitarian aid from getting in, and driven the remaining residents into an acute shortage of food and medicine. And then Putin picks Trump’s wife as the person who will be allowed to “solve” the problem. And he does it right before the elections, when Trump’s collapsing ratings desperately need saving. Trump, the politician who is now effectively helping Putin force Ukraine into capitulation. The White House has already announced that it was Melania who “secured the ceasefire,” while four journalists from Newsmax, Trump’s pet TV network, have been sent to Oleshky as “neutral observers” to present the entire operation to an American audience in exactly the right light. You can bet your ass they won’t just advertise the orange ape as the greatest humanitarian genius in human history. They’ll advertise Putin right alongside him. John Foreman, the former British defense attaché in Moscow and Kyiv, is calling this exactly what it is: a deliberate Kremlin operation. “They know exactly what they’re doing.” According to him, allowing Melania to take credit for the ceasefire gives Russia a way to present the Trumps to the MAGA audience as peacemakers immediately before the midterms. In other words, Moscow first creates a humanitarian catastrophe, then allows the family of the U.S. president to stage a spectacular “rescue” of that catastrophe in order to save themselves from political disaster. Fuck, I genuinely don’t have enough words to express how unbelievably vile and disgusting this is. I’m choking on the hatred of it. They have turned one of the largest man-made humanitarian catastrophes of the 21st century into a fucking medal pinned to an orange ass.

So many huge problems needing fixed and sorted out in N Ireland today, however local media is wall to wall, promoting the same people, over and over, who spend every minute of every day trying to stop progress, cause division and break things further. All the while, the vast vast majority of people, who just want to get on with life, live peacefully, make progress, help their friends, family and neighbours, create employment and try their best, get very little airtime. It's an insane approach to public broadcasting, and clearly why so many people simply switch off - Groundhog Day into perpetuity! We have huge structural long term economic challenges in N Ireland. Public services are falling apart, and there are no financial solutions coming forward from anyone, to fix anything in status quo. This is the story, this should continue to be the story, and focus really over any public media platform should be on identifying solutions, people and new structures that can fix things here, for the almost 2M people who live here, not on those who so clearly and obviously have nothing to offer!

This is a remarkably silly post. Obama was a US senator from 2005 to 2008, when his kids were little. The family lived in Chicago. Totally unsurprising that they would go to Cheesecake Factory and Chuck E. Cheese.
Barack Obama says Cheesecake Factory and Chuckie Cheese were staples of his daughter's childhoods. His daughters are 25 and 27 now which means when he started running for President they were 6 and 8. He was a Senator before that, so they were 4 and 6. He was a state Senator in Illinois they were toddlers, and there's no Cheesecake Factory in Springfield, IL. He's had a private chef since 2008. So you know. He lies about everything. @NEWSMAX @NEWSMAXPodcasts
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Obama's family lived in Chicago, not Springfield, during his Illinois state senate years. Cheesecake Factory opened its first Chicago location in 1995. chicagotribune.com/1995/12/01/che… elledecor.com/life-culture/a…

Angus Snoddy, Sinn Féin member of the Irish Parliament, sidekick of Mary Lou McDonald, used €50,000 of governmental printer cartridges in two years. He is Chairman of Liberty Recycling presently under investigation for money laundering. Significant amounts of money may have been diverted away from Liberty Recycling, a charity established to help recovering drug addicts, and taken for the benefit of an unlawful organisation, the Charities Regulator has said.

DUP has, I think, made three calculations: most unionists don’t support the collapse of the institutions (fearing the consequences would do unionism no favours); the UUP is broadly on same page as DUP; and TUV not strong enough to inflict fatal electoral damage next May.

Fox: Why are you here this morning? Trump rally attendee: Well, in the late 70s, I was a little too young to go to South America for the Jonestown Massacre. But this is as close as I'll ever get, so that's why I'm here. There's nothing like seeing a cult right up front.

No one wants how it happened to come out, which tells you just how horrible this move was. Still, the absence of accountability means it can happen again.
🚨 Pentagon refuses to investigate Starlink disruptions in Ukraine. Senators demand answers about Musk's role Nine US senators — four Republicans and five Democrats — called for an investigation into who was behind restrictions on Starlink and Starshield satellite communications, which Ukrainian officials say hampered efforts to intercept Russian drones. However, the Pentagon's inspector general declined to launch an investigation and referred the senators to the US Air Force, according to the Associated Press. The senators wanted to know whether US officials had authorized the restrictions, whether they knew about them in advance, and how the disruptions affected Ukraine's air defenses and warnings of incoming threats. Senator Jeanne Shaheen said the Trump administration and SpaceX had provided conflicting explanations for the disruptions, making an independent investigation necessary.

If I've read the law correctly, the deputy first minister resigning would remove the first minister from office but leave her in a caretaker role. So Michelle O'Neill would still be there symbolically leading a caretaker executive on her own.

so yeah canada is literally the #1 market for US exports (goods & services combined) on the planet. Not even talking per capita terms. It is #1 in ABSOLUTE terms. In per capita its even higher since its population is much smaller than Mexico, Japan, China, UK, Germany etc. Canada literally buys more from the US (goods & services) than any other country on earth. And has had a TINY trade deficit with the US relative to most of our major trading partners. And it's largely a product of the US wanting to buy lots of Canadian oil (not an industrial deficit). Canada also doesn't steal a lot of American IP like China and other countries. so basically it's an amazing f***ing trading partner. But because we apparently have embraced kakistocracy and concussed hamster foreign policy we must launch major trade war against Canada because Canada bad and mean durr durr.

Top 5 US export markets for goods + services in 2025 (approx., Census/BEA): 1. Canada $426B 2. Mexico $390B 3. UK $209B 4. China $164B 5. Switzerland $142B (Goods dominant for Canada/Mexico/China; services boost UK/Switzerland/Ireland.)

When civilians stand up to terrorists on the West Bank, the police arrest the civilians. And the U.S. is complicit.
Hi, I'm free. Beat up but fine. Police stole my phone. Settlers punched me in the face several times, likely broke @AdeleShoko's wrist and gave @the_andrey_x a concussion. They threatened to shoot us with an assault rifle over and over. Will tell the full story later, but for now, I just want to be clear about what happened. We witnessed two settlers locking a military gate in Umm al-Khair, blocking the only way to more than twenty Palestinian communities: trapping families inside, preventing students from reaching school and workers from their jobs, blocking delivery of food and access to ambulances, etc. It's a crime that the military has this ability at all--but last night, we discovered that random settler terrorists also have the key. We confronted them and began asking questions on camera, and they nearly murdered us for it. When the police finally arrived, they arrested Andrey and me and charged us with assault. The gate is still locked.

Bringing down the Executive isn't going to help Unionism or Northern Ireland. SF will inevitably quit and come back with a bigger list of demands to the SOS and he'll grant them all, and one of them could be a border poll.

“We are gay men and we consider this legislation to be anti-gay. It is transing the gay away.” Jeff Dudgeon played a vital role in the campaign to decriminalise homosexuality in Northern Ireland. He now opposes the Conversion Practices (Criminalisation) Bill, which is before the Northern Ireland Assembly. A founding member of the Northern Ireland Gay Rights Association, Jeff brought the first successful challenge to the criminalisation of homosexuality at the European Court of Human Rights. On 22 October 1981, the Court ruled that Northern Ireland’s law violated his right to respect for private life. The Homosexual Offences (Northern Ireland) Order 1982 followed, bringing the law in line with the rest of the UK. Forty-five years later, he is campaigning against a Bill presented as necessary to protect LGBT people. As he points out, those who oppose it are routinely smeared as homophobes. “Conversion practices” conjures up electric shock treatment and corrective rape — horrific practices that are already illegal. So what would this Bill criminalise? It would expose parents to prosecution, and up to two years in prison, for having honest conversations with children who are confused about their gender identity. Gender identity issues can cause great turmoil within families. Many parents already feel pressured to affirm their child’s belief that they were born in the wrong body, for fear of damaging their relationship. The Bill would add the threat of prosecution for parents who wish to guide their child away from life-changing, irreversible medicalisation. It would rip families apart. This is of particular concern to gay rights campaigners such as Jeff, because the vast majority of gender-confused children are same-sex attracted, and same-sex attraction often goes hand in hand with gender non-conformity in childhood.
